Alpha's POV

Shadow and I walked to Chaos' office hand in hand, the rest of our team following closely behind. He told us that Shadow wasn't going to like this mission, and I remembered what he had said years ago about a prophecy that Shadow wasn't going to like. I gave his hand a small squeeze in attempt to release some of the tension in the air. He squeezed back, though he looked nervous, as if he too sensed something bad was about to happen.

We opened the door to Chaos' office, which was decorated with a million different types of rubix cubes, stacked up on his desk, in the corner of his room, everywhere. I showed him one once and he's been obsessed ever since. Even now, he was fiddling with one while sitting in his office chair. He solved it, threw it to the corner of the room then summoned another one and started to fidget with that one.

"Ah, welcome. Please, take a seat." he told us, gesturing to the chairs in front of his desk. We reluctantly sat down, Shadow and I in the middle with the rest spread out on either side of us.

"What is it Chaos?" I asked.

"The prophecy... It's happening." He said in a steely voice, though I could tell he was trying not to freak out. He kept glancing in Shadows direction, worry evident in his eyes.

      "What prophecy?" Shadow asked.

"It..." Chaos moistened his lips, tapping his foot lightly. "It's another prophecy, you see. It has all of you in it, and it's... Well, it's one Earth." My eyes turned as large is dinner plates and I could feel Shadow's hand trembling in mine.

"But... You can't do this to him!" I exclaimed, squeezing Shadows hand.

"I never wanted to." He said, shaking his head sadly. "I'm sorry Shadow, but this prophecy is inevitable."

"But... I don't want to go back..." He whispered.

"I'm so sorry, if I had it my way you'd be staying here with all the luxuries in the world." Chaos told him sadly, his eyes holding evident guilt. "But unfortunately, not even the creator of the universe can have his way all the time."

Shadow stood up abruptly, taking his hand from mine. He stormed out of the room, obviously upset. I jumped up to go after him, but Chaos stopped me. "Give him comfort, Alpha. You need to meet in my office at dinner tonight. You have no need to reveal youselves, and have permission to wear your hoods and masks."

I nodded and ran out, jogging to catch up to him. "Hey." I greeted as I caught up, speed walking to keep up with his angry pace. "Shadow, we don't have to reveal ourselves, okay? We can get in, complete the mission and get out."

He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. He nodded slowly and grabbed my hand and pulled me close, kissing me on the lips. Even though he kissed me the first day we started dating, we hadn't really kissed unless it was a rare occasion. I kissed him back with just as much passion, then he pulled away. "Thanks Alpha." He muttered, lacing his fingers through mine.

I simply squeezed his hand, offering him comfort.

*Time skip*

It was eight and we all stood in Chaos' office. We all had cloaks with hoods that went half way down our face, covering out foreheads, and masks that covered everything bellow our eyes, but they were all personalized to our taste.

Beauty had a white cloak with a pink/purple trimming and a dove on the left side of her black mask that when pressed turned into a suit of white and pink armor with a mask and hood. Bianca had a olive green cloak with a white trim and a candy skull on the left side of her mask, which also turned into olive green and white armor, also with the hood and mask. Night had a black cloak with a dark blue trimming, and a star on her mask. Her armor was the same as the others, only with her colors.
