"SHUT UP" I scream loudly. Everyone stops talking and moving altogether. They're all looking at me now. Everyone. Staring. Silent.
My mind is racing. My heart pounding. I can't gather my thoughts or even understand them. The words swirling around inside my brain don't sound like English anymore. All the words begin to mesh together and create a constant buzzing sound. But even louder than the buzzing is the clock.
Tick Tick Tick
Constant. Loud. Every tick making me flinch. My eyes dart around the room over and over, scanning everyone's faces. Their frozen, blank faces.
The room is still. Like time itself has stopped. Everyone's quiet. Everything and everyone is motionless. Not a sound to be heard except for the buzzing and that incessant ticking."AHHHHHHH!" I screech without thinking. I close my eyes tightly and scream as loud and as long as I can. Just wanting the buzzing and the ticking to stop. Wanting the people to stop staring. Time to start again and wanting everything to go away.
Then the ticking stops. So I stop screaming. I open my eyes to look at the dark ground. I stand up because at some point during my screaming I fell to my knees. And when I look up again there's no people, no one staring. Only plain, dark stone walls surrounding me. I realize that I'm alone. And I'm alone with something much worse than a clocks constant tick. I'm alone, and surrounded by complete and utter silence.
