Chapter 2

Lizzie dragged her suitcase into the 2 bedrooms 2 bathroom apartment. She gazed around the small living room

"It's so awesome Mika! What do you think??"

Mika stood in the doorway unphased by Lizzie as she signed the paperwork for the apartment. The landlord handed the keys to Mika.

Thanking the man she shut the door. Her eyes scanned the room. Lizzie had her face quite literally pressed up against the window, her breath fogging up the glass.

Mika lets out an annoyed sigh "You look like an animal Elizabeth, knock it off"

Lizzie turned and stuck her tongue out at Mika. Her nose crinkling ever so slightly.

"You need to keep your curiosity under control. You're gonna get yourself killed."

Lizzie stepped down from her spot on the window sill, her bare feet leaving ever so slight imprints on the wood floor as she walked over. The apartment had come with a few things, such as an ugly grey couch with one missing leg, a plain glass coffee table, a table lamp missing the lampshade and a broken tv stand.

"So what are we gonna do for other furniture? I think I wanna get a mattress on the floor until we get like a bed frame or something"

Mika was hardly listening to Lizzie as she rambled on and on about the bedroom and the living room furniture and god knows what else.

"Mika, are you even listening to me?" Lizzie rest her hand on her hips visibly annoyed

"No" Mikas voice had no emotion to it as she stares down at her phone scrolling through some social media app, "I'm busy go get kidnapped or something"

Lizzie pouts knowing Mika meant her comment in a quite literal manner, making her way back to the window "Mika...I want to go to the zoo"

Mika still only half listening glances over to Lizzie "gross, no."

"But I wanna see the animals!" Lizzie's voice went slightly higher as she whined "please?"

"No"

"Pleeeaassee"

"No"

"Please please please please!!"

Lizzie kept begging and pleading. Her voice acting like a drill to Mika's ears. getting gradually more and more irritated. Lizzie was acting just like a complete and utter child.

"Please please, plea-"

"ENOUGH!" Mika raises her voice causing Lizzie to jump back "you're how old Elizabeth? Last I checked it wasn't fucking 5, start acting accordingly or I won't hesitate to kill you on the spot next time understand? "Mika's words cut sharper than she had intended but it was enough to get her to listen.

"I...I just wanted to see the human animals, Mikaela..." Lizzie's voice grew quiet as she blinked back the tears welling up.

"really? What did I just say about this crap? " Mika lets out an annoyed sigh "fine if I say ok will you stop your damn crying?"

Lizzie sniffled nodding

Mika huffed in defeat "you really know how to piss me off..tsk.. Fine lets go"

The second those words left Mikas lips Lizzie perked right up and she jumped for joy.

"Yay! Thank you, Mika!" Lizzie giggled in delight grabbing onto Mika's hand pulling her out the door.
