I tried in vain to shake off this ominous feeling. I stood shaking in front of my mirror. "Get a grip on yourself; it was only a dream," I told myself.
For once I didn't appreciate the Ring of Truth as it heated slightly, implying that I was lying to myself. "Nothing is wrong. I am only freaking out because of Ann Marie's nightmare. The Great Circle is... well, great. They are the good guys, and they appreciate our talents," I told myself.
After getting ready, the feeling was gone, and I couldn't remember why I was so scared. Master Terra's class was a breeze, as usual. I walked to potions alone. Weird, where is Anee Marie? I entered Mistress Dixon's class to see her sitting next to Maggie. They were speaking in hushed tones while huddling over a book. As I approached, Maggie silenced Ann Marie and closed a jounal in the book that I hadn't seen before. "What's going on?"
Maggie looked distant as she said, "Nothing really, only dreams and the truth behind them."
I looked at Anne Marie. She stared right back at me her hazel eyes giving nothing away. "Where were you today?"
"Oh well you see, hahaha, I got released from my lesson early because I succeeded in making tiny people out of water. Then I recieved notice from Master Acerbus, the Master of the Dark Arts, who said that he needed my help for Maggie's lesson. Then I spent time in the Dark Wing while Maggie worked with divination to interpret my dreams. It was quite interesting in there. Ho,ho Tyree you would have been impressed with all of the anciet rune books there! I was in heaven, but here we were finishing up interpreting my dream," she said excitedly.
"What was your dream about?" I asked curiously.
"She dreamed about making liquid fire explode," Maggie said in an annoyed tone as Ann Marie chuckled.
The Ring of Truth scorched my finger, and I looked at them in surprise. But before I could ask any uestions Mistress Dixon began the lesson on liquid fire. Then it dawned on me, Maggie had interpreted Ann Marie's dream from last night. Much to my dismay, the complicated formula for liquid fire kept all of us busy. The cold terror was back, and this time it was accompanied by a foreboding feeling.
After the bell, Mistress Dixon stopped us once more. "You must immediately report to the Headmaster's office," she instructed.
All the way to the office, Ann Marie babbled on and on about the usefulness of liquid fire. Outside the heavy mahogany door, Maggie stopped dead in her tracks.
