"Good morning beautiful." Said, Daniel, as he popped up at the register. I looked up with a smile.

"Good morning handsome."

"Can I get the usual?" Asked Daniel.

"Indeed you can."

Daniel slid his card. We smiled at each other as I grabbed a cup and wrote his name on it. He sat in his usual spot. Before I went any further, I turned over to Daniel and asked him.

"What happened to Jonah? He hasn't been coming in with you and getting coffee recently." I Said with a smile.

Daniel looked up from his phone and responded with "He's been lazy lately."

I smiled before turning back to the counter. I grabbed my sharpie and began to write on Daniel's cup.

"He has beautiful eyes, the kind you get lost in, and I guess I did"

"Daniel." I said as I placed his cup at the pickup section. He stood up and walked over to grab his drink.

"Thanks." Said, Daniel.
"You're very welcome." I added

He smiled as he placed a black box with a white envelope on top of the countertop before walking away. I watched as he left. I grabbed the two items and looked at them wondering... just wondering.

"Hey April, I am going to have my break a little early." I said as my actual break was half an hour away.

I stepped outside into the "backyard" seating. I sat at the same table that Daniel and I sat at last time. I first carefully opened the envelope to see a piece of folded paper. The only ink was seeping through to the other side. You could see his not perfect, nor sloppy handwriting without even opening it. Once I did, I began to read.

The letter was long... a good kind of long.

To the girl, I called beautiful today.

I wrote you this letter for a reason. It's been floating through my mind, and I just want to explain it. Autumn, I never thought I would find anyone so perfect. You're a man's any kind of dream girl. You have so many personalities that you gladly shared with me. I gave you the same response. It's not your amazing coffee that attracts me to keep on coming, it's you. You are the person I can't stop seeing. You fulfill me with even just your beautiful smile with perfect teeth. You're one of a kind. You are God's gift and he gave you his kindness. You are smart, beautiful and brave. Even my friends see it in you. I hope your years in college studying photography and playing volleyball will be amazing. I will always be here to support you.
Remember that day we sat outside for about an hour talking to each other? You've shown me who you really are, but also I told you about myself. There's something I didn't completely tell you and I would love to tell you soon. Meet me up in the hills before sunset.
Now, open the box. See you tonight.

                                                                      ~Daniel

I smiled and I placed the letter down and pulled the box closer to me. It was a long and skinny black box with a petite red ribbon wrapped around it. I pulled the ribbon untied and watched as it fell through the air and landed on the table. I opened up the box to see a piece of paper. It said...

"Couldn't pass this once I saw it. It's perfect for you."

I slowly moved the paper to reveal a white gold chained necklace complimented with a diamond pendant. I could tell instantly that it had to be real.

"No... no, no no." I said as I quickly closed the case.

"That was beautiful." said Lucy as she walked next to me.

"Yes, but it's not mine." I said as I stood up and pushed the chair in while I grabbed the letter and box.

"What are you talking about? I saw Daniel give it you." said Lucy as she followed me inside.

"Lucy I just can't accept it. It's real... like real diamonds and gold. I don't want him to spend money on me." I added as we stopped by the staff room door.

"What are you going to do with it then?" asked Lucy.

"Give it back to him tonight."

It's now two hours before sunset. I hopped into the car and drove to the destination Daniel sent me. Once I arrived, it wasn't too crowded but there were people about everywhere. I parked my car and then realized I could just drive up the hill, so I did. I parked and walked down up a staircase to reveal a hill with a beautiful building along with a stunning view of the city below. I admired every bit of the space around me as I walked down the cement path. I was wearing a grey sweatshirt, black leggings, and my white slip-on  Vans. Hopefully, Daniel isn't all dressed up because obviously, I am not. I walked down the long path looking left and right to find Daniel. Suddenly I saw Daniel standing next to a pastel yellow cloth on the ground with a box of pizza with the hugest smile on his face. Thank the lord he wasn't dressed up. He was wearing his Guns N' Roses t-shirt, black skinny jeans and his white slip on vans. I walked over with the biggest smile plastered on my face. I felt the breeze blow on my hair as I walked closer. I held out my hands and so did Daniel. I wrapped both of my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I loved that hug.

"How are you?" He asked as we went ahead and sat on the blanket.

"I am great. How are you?" I asked as we just stared into each other's eyes.

"Amazing as always."

"Great to hear."

We had a short conversation about our day before we both grabbed a slice of pizza and I also grabbed a bottle of water.

"Oh before I forget." I said as I turned to grab the gift he gave me from out my backpack. I felt Daniel's eyes on me.

"Here... I can't accept this." I said as I held the black box between us.

"What are you talking about. Take it." Said, Daniel, as he gently pushed the box closer to me.

"Daniel I love it... I absolutely do, but... You shouldn't be doing this for me. You're too sweet." I said with a smile. Daniel didn't say anything and just admired my face. I smiled back before grabbing the box and opening it. He removed the paper still sitting inside. He then removed the necklace carefully. I watched as the necklace shined in the sunlight. Every crease of the diamond shining brightly. Daniel stood up while I sat still. I felt his presence behind me. He carefully moved my hair to the side and placed the necklace on. The diamond hanging about an inch and a half below my collarbone. I looked down at the necklace now placed on my neck by someone who I truly love. A big smile planted on my face Daniel came back and sat where he originally was. I looked at him in the eyes and asked.

"Are you sure?"

Daniel nodded in response.

"There would be no one else that I love more to give it to."

The words that came out of Daniel's mouth made my heart melt. I scooted closer as we forcefully hugged. My head resting on his shoulder as I smelled his perfect scent. He then comforted me by rubbing my back slowly.

"Thank you...." I whispered into his ear.

"You're welcome." He whispered back while leaving a soft and gentle kiss on the top of my head. The orange and pink sunset behind us just setting our moods.
