Chapter 1: Kidnapped

Katie's POV

I'm walking to my house when I hear something in an ally. "Um hello?" I ask. I get no responds. I walk in further until something hits my head and I fall to the ground. I wake up in a room and I try to move, but I'm handcuffed to the bed. "Why does someone have bloody handcuffs!?" I say to myself. I hear foot steps outside of the room, and hI keep quiet. A man opens the door with dark blue hair that's placed at the side of his head. "Where am I? And who are you?!" I yell. He grins while walking towards me. "Why, you don't recognize me?" He says, taking his hood off. I see ocean blue eyes and a pale face. "Dan?! Why?! Let me go!!" I've dated Dan when he didn't become a Youtuber, but I broke up with him because he only paid attention to YouTube. He puts his hood back on and pulls out a kitchen knife. "Oh Dan, you can't kill me! You don't have the guts!" I say. "Yes, I know dear Katie," he says running his hand in my blonde hair. "But that doesn't mean I can't do this." He takes the knife and puts a cut right down my arm. I kick him back, causing the knife to fly in the air and scratch my leg. I scream in pain as Dan watches, with his evil grin. "Let me go Dan!!" I yell again. He leans over to kiss me but I turn my face so he kisses my cheek. "Oh Katie, you refuse to be with me when you want to be." Dan says. "I've moved on Dan! I've hated you ever since and I still do!" I say. Dan pulls a key out of his pocket and unlocks the handcuffs from my wrist. I stand up, but only for my body to weaken and fall back onto the bed. Dan starts running his fingers through my hair. I want to kick him so badly but I can't move. I fall asleep, drifting into a nightmare. A nightmare I've had since I broke up with Dan. I woke up to myself screaming. I looked at my leg and arm but realized someone stitched them up. I open the door which wasn't locked anymore, and walk out of the room, into the kitchen. I rest my head on the counter and hear Dan walk in. "Have you decided?" He asks. "Decided what?" I say, raising an eyebrow. "If you want to stay with me or die." Dan explains. I take a minute or two to decide until I know what I will choose. "I'll stay with you..." I say quietly. He smiles and makes two cups of tea and hands one to me. "Dan, where are the pugs?.." I ask. He points upstairs and I rush up to see them. But I only see blood. I run back down the stairs and yell "What the... Dan! Why did you kill the pugs!?" "I thought you hated dogs, dear Katie." "That didn't mean you had to kill them!" I yell. Dan shrugs and sips his tea like nothing even happened. I start to get a headache and lay down on the pearl white couch. I drift to sleep but didn't have a nightmare. Not even a dream. Just a soft, familiar voice, singing to me as i float on a soft cloud. But the singing stopped, and my body began to drop. I was falling, but right when I almost hit the floor, the soft voice was singing and I was on a cloud again. I woke up to my phone going off like crazy, and check to see who was texting me:

Nate:Katie, where are you? I've called a million times already.

Katie:Sorry Nate, I was sleeping. No need to worry, I'm coming home now.

Nate:I hope. Me and Lily miss you.

Katie:I'm on my way, Nate. Tell Lily that too.

Nate:Ok, see you soon.

Katie:Yup...

I check the time: 2:00 in the morning. Why is Nate even up? I softly open the door and close it. I look through Dan's window to see if he heard me. Luckily, he didn't, so I start running back to my house. I take my keys out of my pockets and unlock my door quickly. I see Nate sitting on the couch, with a worried look on his face. I close the door and see him look over to me. I rush over to him, hugging him with all my might. "Where were you Katie?" Nate ask. "It doesn't matter. Im safe."
