I told Liam that I will be taking the day off today so that I can take Zayn out on a date. He just replied with a hum and continued on, I don't think he heard me.
I went to the kitchen and made crepes and vanilla sauce. I plated the crepes, spread the sauce and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on them before rolling them. I put the two plates on a tray, poured two glasses of orange juice and made my way to my room where my mate is still sleeping.
I placed the tray on his nightstand before turning to him and gently shaking him awake. The minute I touched his shoulder, he was sitting up and looking around. He saw me and relaxed. "Sorry, old habits." He said as he cutely rubbed his eyes.
"Understandable, you are an Alpha." I reassured him with a small smile. "Now to start our date, I made you breakfast." I changed the subject.
"Our date starts now?" He asked and I nodded. "But I haven't even showered yet."
"It doesn't matter one bit." I made him scoot over before sitting next to him and putting the plate on his lap. "I don't really cook but I taught myself how to make crepes for when I met my mate. I think pancakes are overdone." I told him.
"That's true. Everyone is making pancakes." He said.
"So on that note, bon appetite baby." I said. I let him try his first so that if something is wrong, he can die first. I'm joking, I'm waiting to hear if he likes them.
"This is really good!" He exclaimed, making me grin and dig in.
After we ate, I gathered the plates and glasses and put them back on the tray. "Go take a shower and get ready. I've already put your clothes in the bathroom." I gave him a kiss in his forehead before leaving to wash our dishes. Before Niall came back, I would've left them there for an Omega to wash them instead of doing it myself. But I am glad he is back, this pack is getting better with each passing day.
I sat down on the kitchen island and looked through my e-mails I'm case I have something important because I'm ignoring my phone today. Just as I was about to put my phone away, Zayn walked in looking like he just came from a photo shoot. Which is ridiculous because he is just wearing a black skinny jean, t-shirt and a black leather jacket. A classic outfit that my mate makes look good.
"You look amazing." I voiced out, making him blush and look down before he looked up with a smirk. Woah, my mate is hot!
"You don't look too bad yourself." He said, making me look at my outfit. Nothing special, just a black t-shirt and black jeans. (A/N let's be honest, Theo James looks hot in black. Bad ass!)
"You ready to go?" I gestured for him and take my hand, which he did. I gave him a small smile and led him out of the house and to the car. I pulled out of the driveway and started towards our first destination.
"Where are we going?" He asked when we got close.
"The museum." I answered. Not the truth but not completely a lie either.
"Really?" He looks so excited.
"Yeah, but later." I said as I pulled over in a zoo parking lot.
"The zoo?" He asked even more excited. How is that possible?
"Yeah. Come on." I took his hand and we went in together.
We walked around and got to know each other. We talked about our favourite animals, met the zoo animals and fed them. Got to know the history behind them and really had a blast.
We left a little after lunch time so that the place I want to take him to isn't full. We walked there since it was down the road.
I opened the door for him and I saw his face transform into a look of awe. The diner has a homey feel to it. There are pictures of families and friends all over the walls, of loved ones that have left us. There are people conversing and smiling with each other. It aways looks and feels like a family get together.
"Babe, welcome to my home away from home." I said to him as I led him to a table.
"Brandon!" I heard a voice yell from the counter and then there were arms around my neck. I smiled but it fell when I heard a growl from across the table. "How are you? Where have you been? Have you been eating? How is everyone? Why haven't you come-"
"Stop." I said while laughing. This is just like Ellie to worry like this.
"How about you get me the usual and then I will answer your questions. Two of them." I removed her hands from my neck so that I can look at her face.
"Dad! Two of Brandon's usual!" She yelled before sitting down. "Where have you been?" She asked.
"Ellie, I want you to meet Zayn." I said to her.
"Hi I'm Ellie, Brandon's girlfriend." Oh no! I heard a growl louder than the one before.
"No, that's not true. She always says that to every person I hang out with. She is like a sister to me. I promise you." I stood up and stopped him from leaving. "Remember when I said that this is my home away from home? These people are like my family. She is like my older sister, that's why she is asking me if I have been eating right. I promise you, other than Sophia, there hasn't been anyone else. Hell I wasn't even with her." I said to him. "I promise." I whispered.
He looked at me for a while before looking at Ellie. I looked at her to see a smile on her face, as if she knows who Zayn is to me. "I'm just his sister." Ellie softly said.
Zayn looked down in embarrassment before looking and apologising. "No need to apologise. I know I wouldn't like someone claiming to be my mate's boyfriend." Ellie said. "Mate." Ellie said as if it just sank in before she squealed.
Ellie jumped up and rushed to the kitchen and the next thing I know, I have two pairs of arms around me. I looked helplessly at Zayn to see him in Mrs Henley's arms. "Oh he is so adorable!" Mrs Henley said
"See? I told you." Ellie said from my side.
"Okay okay! May we have our food now?" I asked just as Mr Henley put two plates on the table. "How about I continue with my date and then I'll come back tomorrow and fill you in?" I negotiated with the Henleys.
Zayn and I sat back down and ate our food. I apologised for Ellie's behaviour and then proceeded to tell him that she does that to ensure I don't go out with the wrong people.
"It's okay. But you promised me a museum." He said when we finished eating.
I nodded. "Let's go, they are not going to let me pay." I took his hand and helped him up. "Bye!" I yelled and received some back.
We walked to the car and drove to our next destination, the fair. His eyes were so wide when we got there. "Really? I have never been to a fair before." What?
"Well there's always a first time for everything." I said to him before we went in.
I watched his face the whole time, he never lost his smile, even when he lost the games. He was bouncing everywhere and I bought him everything he looked at. For the rest of the day, I made sure to keep him happy and smiling. Even when we drove home.
Even when I attempted to make dinner for him and failed miserably.
Even when he decided to help me and put me out of my misery.
But I couldn't help but smile as I went to bed. With my mate in my arms.
And a smile still on his face.
