Moving. I hate it. Apparently, dad just HAD to go and get a promotion. And now, we're moving to a town in the middle of nowhere. It sucks. I'll raise those Neanderthal-monkeys who invented moving, from the dead.... and KILL them! I finished stuffing the last of my clothes into my bag and started walking to the stairs.

"SEEEEAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!", a voice bellowed from below, it was mom. "ARE YOU DONE YET?!". Isn't she just soooooooo patient?

"Coming mom!", I said as I ran down the stairs. I got down there and took a good look around. I sighed, I'll miss this place.

"C'mon, dear, get in the car.", mom said as she pointed to the old mustang down our driveway. I jumped into the old car and came to sit beside Alisha, my sister.

"Aren't you just so excited?", she asked me, her blonde curls dancing behind her as the car roared to life.

" No." I mumbled, barely audible. She looked at me angrily and crossed her arms over her chest and turned to sit properly. I let out a small smile.

It was a long ride to Granum, this little town in Alberta. You probably never heard of it. After all, it's basically nowhere. Once or twice, dad opened his mouth to speak. He closed it again, though. Good. I needed my alone time.

Eventually, we got there. I grabbed my bag from my trunk and began to drag it to the old, earthy house amongst the kind of lush greenery that you'd see on TV. Just as I approached the old place, mom caught up to me. She pulled to the side of the house and started talking to me in soothing tones.

"Sweetheart,", she said, her hand on my shoulder, "I know that this may be hard for you, but please try to- -". I raced off, away from her and into the house. I locked myself in a room I found and proclaimed it mine. It was an old room, dusty, stiff bed, torn up wallpaper, no TV, no computer, and no GOOD books. Great. I placed by backpack on a desk and sat on the bed.

My phone started ringing as I sat on the bed. It was Josh. Finally, civilization.

"Hey man!" he greeted.

"Josheroo!" I replied, full of bubbling joy.

It a long conversation, apparently, this morning, he magically ended up dating Malanie Richardson. She's this girl who Josh has had a crush on since forever. He spoke happily. He was joyful. He'd done something he was proud of. And me? Oh, just moping around, secluding myself from the people I call family. Stupid me...

Suddenly, my sister came in. I forgot to lock the door? She announced that dinner was ready and closed the door, she stayed there long enough, though, to let in the intoxicating fumes of mom's cooking. Man! It smelled great! I followed the fragrance to the kitchen where I was greeted by my smiling mother. She was holding a platter of lasagna. That was the great smell! I sat on the small table and went to gobble on the Italian dish mother made. I ate quickly and quietly. I excused myself as soon as I got full and rushed to the little room that I assumed to be a bathroom. I was right. It was a small bathroom, old and ugly like the rest of the house. At least there was hot water. I bathed briefly, soaking in the warmth of the hot water, and changed into my bed clothes. Basically, my boxers and an old shirt. I lookd at the kitchen and saw that they were still there. It was still quite early but I felt like bed.

Getting in the room, I gave a disgusted look at the stiff bed, lay down, and curled up. It was a terrible bed, really.Of all places, why'd we have to move here?! And with that, I fell asleep...
