Magic tricks

Now, I'm not usually one for drama, but THIS was just asking for my attention. What is it, you may ask? Well, turns out the drama kids have a magic trick up their sleeves, and they've been planning something for weeks, MONTHS.

Walking to the stage, I smiled. Looking around, I can see that the teachers were all gathered around to see what was causing all the fuss in a small space like this.

By now, you're probably wondering who I am and what my "story" is. Good for you, I love introducing myself, for I have done it most of my life.

Hello, my name is Tairus Ryan. How do you pronounce my name? You'd pronounce it as the zodiac sign "Taurus," although I find it hilarious that I'm a Gemini and have the name sounding like a different sign.

My story? Yeah, I'm not some cliche person who's like, "Oh as a child I was bullied and my parents pretended to love me and one day I ran away from home and fell in love!" No, I'm not that type of story teller. This story? Is my story. Sit back, relax, perhaps have some tea, and enjoy my narration of my life in a simple story.

Where to start? Well, I should finish with how I did start, I suppose.

Ah, yes, the teachers seemed to either be worried or perhaps not caring, probably both.

The stage was lit up with a beautiful variety of colors, this is my favorite part. Flashing, the lights bounced off my face as I smiled and threw my arms up in the air and began to clap.

"May I have everyone's attention?" Shouting, I could tell that some people looked purely out of curiosity, maybe to try and make the best out of being bored out of their minds.

Hearing a whistle, I nod to myself and pointed at a random person in the small crowd that had formed in front of me.

"You! You're the lucky winner. What is your name, said person?" Looking down at the person, I could tell they were extremely nervous about this. Their eyes began to search for an escape, and their shoulders began to shake.

"Hey... If it's okay-"

"Lola! My name... Is Lola." Lola announces to the crowd, they cheer as she slowly looks back at me.

"Lola... Alright I can work with that. Will you please make your way onto this stage, Lola?" Bending down, I stretch out my arm to her, not really expecting her to actually go for it. But, she actually does grab my hand, causing me to lose my balance. I didn't fall, no, instead I instantly pulled her up and then fell.

"I am sorry about that... Lola. But, now that you're up here, the show can begin."

Before I could even start, all the lights turned on and I could see that the teachers and other staff members were starting to watch, and I could see that the principal, Mrs.Hail, was one of those watching.

Now, Mrs.Hail is a nice lady, she's also very beautiful. She has long black hair, green eyes that shine, and olive colored skin. She was very tall, well, taller than I, and I was 5'10. I guess that's enough to say about her.

"Tairus Ryan, and Lola McClain, what in God's name do you think your doing?" Mrs.Hail sounded pissed off, but honestly, her face said otherwise. It said "worried."

Clearing her throat, Lola looks over at me and nudges my arm, before looking down at her feet. Lola's legs were shaking and I could tell that she has never been in this type of situation before, so I smiled and explained what was going on.

"Well," I started, "I was going to perform a magic trick." Yeah, okay, that was a lie. The drama kids and I were going to perform on the stage, but I wanted to make it seem as though they weren't even part of it for they would not get in trouble.

"Why was Lola involved?"

"Now..." This is where it got tricky. How do I explain myself? First off, the real project was to make it rain using glitter. Of course, that would make us get in a hell of a lot of trouble. But, we wouldn't have gotten caught. That's when Lola would've been brought in. Yes, I know, it sounds terrible to blame it on someone else. Although, she was technically part of this whole thing too.

"Uh... To make Lola suddenly... Disappear?" My voice had gotten higher with every word, doubting myself in being able to lie.

"Yeah! Tairus was going to make me disappear! Tairus... May we continue?" Lola asked, holding out her hand.

I can't believe it! This girl who I have never met before, was going to stand up for me. Though, I'm not surprised. I've seen her hanging out around the kids that would be classified under the "peace rally" gang. I know, not really original I guess.

"Right..." I picked Lola up, as she closed her eyes real tight. We have totally forgotten about Mrs.Hail, who actually seemed to be interested in what was going on.

Throwing her up in the air, I watched as Lola then began to dissolve. This, had actually freaked me out. I was not expecting this out of her at all.

"Looking for me?" Lola's voice is heard from behind the stage curtain, where a couple of the drama kids could be heard clapping and whistling as she bowed.

"That was... Fantastic, I can say the least. How are you able to do such magic at a young age?" Mrs.Hail seemed to be entranced by this, which gave me the chance to run.

Before leaving the room, I turned and saw Lola explaining to Mrs.Hail about what had just happened. Making eye contact, Lola winks at me and I nod and ran, the door closing loudly behind me.
