The Virus

Chapter 2: Someone New?

Lotus had saved maybe 5 people? Out of the 250 he met, only 5 could get away. He just couldn't kill them in time. But nighttime was approaching, but he just heard somebody yelling for help. When he got to the source, it was a scientist. "Hi"

"Oh go- oh wait you aren't infected? This could be it, come with me." The scientist opened a door and a mutant jumped out of the darkness. Lotus surged forward, and slammed his daggers into the mutants head, killing it.

"Get up, we gotta go."

"Y-yes of course."

They walked in darkness before they reached a lab. The scientist typed a code in and walked inside. The scientist ushered Lotus onto a surgery bed, before sticking a needle into his arm and took some of his blood and put it into a vial. 

"OW, what was that for?"

"I need your blood, it might be B-, which is the only blood type immune to the virus."

The scientist ran some tests, yelled in delight and walked over to a vat of crimson bubbling chemicals. He poured the blood in and the chemicals turned bright green. He took a vial and filled it with the concoction.

"Listen, there is a bomb in the middle of the city, below the building. Put the chemicals in the gunpowder, then it will spread the concoction throughout the city, curing the population of the virus. But be warned, there is a mass of mutants in the middle, and a while ago I saw IRF enter, which is the Infected Relief Force."

"Okay, I won't let you down."

"If you don't the virus will evolve enough to break the dome and then we will actually have the apocalypse on our hands." 

Lotus took the vial, and ran out of the lab, heading for the centre building. Little did he know, there would be a lot more than just mutants.
