"Boo!" A pair of hands grabbed at my waist as I shoved my books into my locker.

"Ah! Hoseok, you scared me to death." I said, placing my hand on my chest.

He chuckled. "Ready for lunch?"

"Yeah." I laughed. "What's for today?"

"The usual, pizza." He rolled his eyes.

"Ugh, gross. I hate the school's pizza." I groaned.

Hoseok and I have been best friends since the sixth grade... We're now in our senior year.

We walked down the hallway, casually shoving each other at times. We sat at our table after waiting in line for gross food. The only good thing about the pizza was that it was stuffed crust.

"Hey watch." Hoseok said as he sat in front of me.

He pulled his crust apart to reveal a long string of cheese. He placed it on his top lip, creating a cheese mustache.

"Oh my gosh." I laughed. "You belong back in grade school."

We both laughed as we ate the crusts. We sat for a minute afterwards and then walked to throw our trays away. We sat back down at our table. We're not the people that everyone chooses to sit with. Hoseok and I are kind of your 'Loser's Club'.

"Hey, did you take the chemistry test yet?" Hoseok asked.

"No. Have you?" I asked.

"No. But, we can study after school." He said.

"Alright. Were at?" I asked.

"Hmm." He hummed. "Coffee shop?"

"Sounds good." I smiled.

The bell rang and we walked opposite ways to our last class. I had math, which was pretty dreadful.

Time came to go home. I piled my books into my backpack and zipped it up. I threw it onto my back and hit someone in the process.

"I'm sor- oh hey Hoseok." I said.

"Hey." He smiled.

"I thought we were meeting at the coffee shop." I said.

"We were. But I don't want you to walk alone." He said.

Hoseok has been really nice to me. Back in our tenth grade year, I kind of formed a special liking to him. But, I can't tell him because I'm afraid he won't feel the same. I'm afraid of the rejection. I don't want to ruin our friendship.

We walked out the door, shoving past students. I called my mom, telling her I'd be home pretty late.

"So, what do you want to study first?" I asked.

"I'm having trouble memorizing some elements on the periodic table." He said.

"Oh! I can help with that." I smiled.

We studied for about three hours before deciding to head home.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow Hoseok." I said, pushing the door of the coffee shop open.

"Hold on, I'll walk you home." He said.

"You don't have to. It's going to get dark soon." I said.

"I don't mind." He said, pulling his backpack from the chair.

We walked out into the chilly fall air. I pulled my scarf up onto my nose. We walked in silence side by side. I felt a warm touch on my left hand. When I looked at Hoseok, he faced the opposite way. I turned my head down and blushed at my feet.

I pulled my house key out from my coat pocket. My watch said 6:47. I fumbled my keys around but before unlocking it, I turned to Hoseok.

"Do you wanna stay here tonight?" I asked him. "It's already getting pretty dark and you live on the other side of town."

"No that's okay. I don't want to be a bother." He said, twirling his thumbs.

"Hoseok, you're not a bother. Never." I said, placing a hand on his arm.

He looked down at my hand. I pulled it away and shoved it in my coat pocket, embarrassed.

"Yeah. I'll stay." He giggled.

I smiled and turned to unlock the door. We walked to the living room and saw my mom and dad on the couch.

"Hoseok is going to stay. It's to dark for him to walk home." I said.

"That's fine." My mom said.

My mom and dad took a liking to Hoseok. They knew he was the only person I associated with and I was the only one he associated with.

We walked up to my room and threw our bags down in relief. We sat on my bed and talked out the chemistry test.

"So, um. I was thinking." Hoseok said softly. "You're the only person I actually can stand."

"Wow, thanks Hoseok." I laughed.

"That sounded bad didn't it?" He laughed. "But anyway, we've been great friends since middle school. I really like you Y/N and I was wondering if you would um.. be my-uh girlfriend." He rubbed the back of his neck as his face turned multiple shades of reds and pinks.

"Yes, Hoseok. I would love to." I said, blushing.

"Really?" He asked. His face lit up immediately.

"Yes. You've been there for me for a long time. You cared for me when I was sick. You're the only one who cares Hoseok." I said.

"I'm glad you said yes." He replied.

"Me too. To be completely honest, I've liked you since tenth grade.. but I didn't want to tell you because I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same."

"That's why I'm happy you said yes. I was so afraid you'd say no and everything would be awkward." He said.

He stood up and pulled me by my arms. He wrapped his arms around my body and held me close. I returned the hug by wrapping my arms around his hips.

"Thank you Y/N." Hoseok whispered.
