CHAPTER 8

After dinner, we decided for a walk at central park. The moon shone brightly on the path, the leaves rustle and the trees swayed gently to the gentle evening breeze; stars twinkled against the ink-black skies. The lake glistened under the light of the moon and he stars, what a beautiful night for a walk, I thought. Then the wind blow a bit harder and colder, making me shiver a little; maybe not. I hugged myself, keeping warm, and I felt Gab put his coat around me.

“It’s cold Gab, you’ll freeze,” I said trying to shake off the coat.

“No, it’s okay,” he replied softly, wrapping the coat more firmly around me, “I’ll survive,” he said as he gazed at me thoughtfully, his eyes twinkled brighter than the brightest star in the night sky, his smile more radiant than the moon. This is it; he’s going to kiss me, I thought, as he leaned in for … then everything went downhill at that point.
