Chapter 9

Emma's POV

Day 43 of being Regina's personal assistant.

It's Friday yay! I have one last day before the whole weekend is mine. Regina is being weird right now. She's off and she won't really talk to me, it's draining me. Why lead me on like that? Just to push me away as soon as something happens. I can handle it I guess because love hasn't ever brought me down before.  I'm sat at my desk and the silence is unbearable right now. I want to ask her what I've done , beg her to tell me why she is ignoring me, but I hold my tongue. Instead I walk out to get something to drink. I can't handle this much more. When I'm out Rose comes up to me.
"Hey"
"Hey" I mumble.
"What's up with you Swan." I try avoid the question but it's no use.
"Regina has been ignoring me for a while. " Rose looks down and I notice. Something's going on.
"What?" She looks down.
"What!" I say firmly.
"I may of overheard something that I might of accidentally forgotten to tell you" now I'm worried.
"Jesus what now?"
"Last week on either Tuesday or Wednesday I heard Mills talking to her mother and um"
"Spit it out Rose" I was getting frustrated now.
"Mills has a husband ok?"
"What!" What the hell?
"Any you didn't tell me?" She looks down again.
"I know how much you like her ok, you've been through so much, you deserve to be happy ok? " everyone was staring at us, we had no idea how loud we actually were being.
"That's no excuse Rose, you should of told me"
"I'm sorry ok?" I don't want to hear it. I'm so angry right now

I storm into mine/Regina's office and slam the door. I am beyond pissed off. She looks up disturbed.
"Why?"
"I'm sorry, excuse me?" I roll my eyes.
"Don't even bother playing dumb Mills, YOUR MARRIED?" Now she looks guilty.
"I don't have to tell you EVERYTHING about me Swan" she's trying to stay calm but she's struggling.
"YEAH BUT THE LEAST YOU COULD DO WAS TELL ME YOU WERE MARRIED? BUT NO, YOU LEAD ME ON, KISS ME AND THEN SHUT ME OUT. " She doesn't reply. I think she is crying but I'm not sure, it's hard to tell. Then I'm crying, and I can't stop.
"You don't get to do that Regina" I sob uncontrollably. She looks up with tear stained cheeks.
"You don't understand Emma, I'm in a really bad place"
"And you don't understand how much I fell for you Regina" and with that I turn my back and walk out of that office, everyone is staring at me when I walk out but I don't care. I walk out of there, out of Regina Mills' life. For good. I get in my cab and leave all this behind me. Did I over react? I mean nothing really happened but we kissed twice and it was her both times and I really felt it. I fell for her hard.

I'm at home now. I just don't know what to do. Rose has messaged a bunch of times but I ignore her. She could of told me before I fell in to deep. I dial the companies number after a long time of thinking what to do.
"Hello this is Mills and Co how may I help you?" It was Rose. Crap.
"My name is Emma Swan and I am calling to let you know that I will not be returning. "
"E-Emma?" I hang up.
