I mange to recover from what I saw and headed inside into this fancy ass place.
I get into the building and first thing I notice is how gorgeous this place looked.
Crystal chandeliers where all over the ceiling with detailed animal drawings around them.
The floor was covered with fine red carpet material that is comfortable enough to sleep on.
Fancy people in suits and dresses who were formed in groups that were scattered everywhere.
"Damn...," I say, barely hearing myself.
My muscles tense when I feel a hand intertwine with mine.
I quickly turn around to see who that person is and oh my freaking god.Keith is looking fine as hell.
"Like what you see?" He bites his lower lip and smirks. He shifts his gaze from my dress to look at me in the eyes.
I awkwardly cough and face the other way, removing my hand from his in process.
I can't let history repeat itself.
"I like what I see" he claims.
I playfully slap his pervert self and continue our little chat.
I have to act normal.
"Where are we?" I ask out of curiosity.
"My bad," he runs his fingers through his hair and places his hands in his wide opened pockets," This is a ball for The Future Cooperation. I'm not really sure how to explain this Cooperation to you."
I raise an eyebrow at him and shake my head, not breaking eye-contact with him.
"Why?" I mumble to Keith.
"I'll tell you after this party is over, you'll get an idea of it when-
"Good Afternoon ladies and gentlemen!" A guy gets on a faraway stage that I didn't notice when I first entered.
"Welcome to the annual party of the Future Cooperation! My name is Jefferson Future and I'm the owner this company."
He pauses to cough, but I notice him faking it.
"Today, ladies and gentlemen, we are going to test our first time travel device made in the world!" He says excitingly.
"This device doesn't only include traveling in time, but also can make you make change some past events to change your future or see the upcoming fate!"
Time travel? The hell?
Why would we mess with fate?
I pull on Keith's jacket and look at him in utter confusion.
He mouths the words "Wait."
Jefferson raises his arm and reveals a crystal. Where the hell did I see this before?
"We have made this crystal a few years ago, but this crystal teleports according to certain timelines, my dear audience. We found this crystal once again this morning on my fellow co-worker's desk, it must have been teleported there," he claims.
A long pause comes after that because a few people came in with what looked like a box for people to draw from.
"For people that are confused right now, every year, a female or male gets picked from the Jbox to be chosen to travel in time and fix some events," he says and I could've sworn I've seen him smirk.
"Everyone in this room at the moment has their name in the Jbox. Our fellow co-worker is going to draw someone in...," he looks at clock, "now."
Soooo let me get this straight. One of us is going to become a lab rat to test whatever this bullshit is. Pftttt. Like I'm going to believe this is going to work.
The co-worker draws from the box and calls out the name.
"Crystal Kimber June! Come on up to the stage!"
What the...hell.
No no no no no no no. No.
"Keith!" I glare at him.
"I'm sorry," he clenches his fist," your chances of getting chosen was really low"
I hate you Keith.
Oh goodness. Noah must've heard my name too. Crap!
I look at him angrily and curse myself for coming here.
"This is all your fault," I push him and walk up to the stage.
It has always been your fault.
