"Wherever my story takes me, however dark and difficult the theme, there is always some hope and redemption, not because readers like happy endings, but because I am an optimist at heart. I know the sun will rise in the morning, that there is a light at the end of every tunnel."
―Michael Morpurgo―
"It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn't matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over."
―Paulo Coelho―
Betty Tyler was always the kind of girl who smiled at you in the halls, who waved at you, even know she only had small talk with you. She was the girl who helped everyone with the homework, and she was the one who cried when someone said they loved her because she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. She was the girl everyone loved, everyone cared about. She was the girl who was so pure and self-clear. Until the day when she left her town, only to bad thing happen to her.
Noah got in jail, after the third court and Betty was there, looking at the boy she was so convinced weeks ago she loved, looking at the boy who crashed her heart, looking at the boy who changed her and somewhere deep, deep down in her heart she knew that she was grateful, just because they boy thought her how to be thought. How to learn be careful and not everyone let in. When Noah lived the court, it was the last time their eyes met and she saw that evil look coming from him directly to her. It was the last time she saw that full lips of his, which rise up a bit when he smirked at her, probably saying "This is not over" But now, Betty knew it was.
Today was the day when she had to leave, leave the city which caused her problems, depression, hate and everything she didn't go through when she was in her own town. In her own comfort zone, when she was in her own bubble with every person she loved. And today she was going there, in her safe haven. Only now she was changed a lot.
"So, you will call me right?" The Red-head asked and Betty nodded, they were sitting in Betty's bed, the stuff already packed and now it was the time to go down.
Her parents, who were by her side during the court, holding her hands whenever they got the chance, saying she was strong and could handle that. She was grateful for that thought it gave her the courage to end everything and finally stood for her self. They were waiting outside knowing she needed the time to say goodbye to her friend. The one who was always with her, who made her happy even the times when smile seemed impossible for the girl. She was the one telling the girl to broke up with her 'dumbass' boyfriend, but when she repeated over and over she was in love and could not break up, she still was with her, holding her to make sure she would not fall when she was drunk or encourage her to finally say something to the cheater boy.
"Yes" Betty nodded again and her eyes wide in shock when she saw the tear running down from the Red-head's eye. She quickly got over there, next to her and pulled her in the bear hug.
"I just will miss you so much B," The girl said sobbing against her shoulder and she felt her eyes watered too, she loved that girl. She would miss her too, of course. The girl backed away and she almost pulled her for another hug when Betty heard loud and fast footsteps near the room.
Not after a second Freddie was there, breathless with something in his hands. He looked at the girls and then he narrowed his eyes only to Betty "You are leaving and you didn't bother to tell me?" Betty felt bad, she didn't want Freddie to know, she didn't want to say goodbye to him, knowing it will cause nothing but a tear. The girl looked away with tears shining in her eyes, somehow the boy grow in her she didn't want to leave him, she didn't want to see him last time, knowing she would never, ever would be back in this 'town of pain'
"I'm sorry" The girl mumbled and look at the boys hurt expression, which has covered his beautiful face. Freddie stepped inside of the room, handing the box to the girl.
"I want you to have this," He said and Betty nodded, when the boy give it to her their hands' touch and the girl fought the elect burning his body, Freddie stepped even more close to her. "You should have said something," He said and the girl felt his breathing on her now pale lips.
"UM, I will be down the stares," Lilith said and Betty nodded without looking at her, she heard the girl leaving and close the door behind her.
Betty was lost in boy's eyes, which were locked in the girls one. The boy leaned close and simply captured the girl's lips. Betty held on him, her hands raise in boy's back and she dragged her nails on his back, taking all the pleasure from the kiss. The boy's lips were magic, they were the lost desire that killed Betty. His lips were different from Noah's fully ones. Noah's kiss was forced and painful, this was gentle and wanted. This was the kiss made Betty do the next step, she backed away and pull her skirt up. When Freddie saw that his eyes filled with passion and worry "You sure?" The boy asked and this time Betty was sure, it was her own will, not forced one like with Noah, this was not to pleasure another, this was just for pleasure her self by being with the person she knew she would probably won't see anymore, the person she had unrealized fillings for.
So with that, she gave her self to another person but Noah. She gave her self, to gentle, loving, caring boy laying beside her. She gave her pleasure to him only to pleasure herself back. This was what it should be with Noah, this time it was not unbearable, dull feeling like it was with her 'boyfriend' This was something more locked behind the pale feeling of perfection which caused the girl so much trouble. It was something, flickering deep inside her, wanting the girl to let it on the sunlight but Betty fought it, there was no need for it.
So, she pulled herself away from the boy who looked at her with the universe echoed in his eyes, the girl leaned for another kiss before she was fully closed and ready to leave.
It's beyond funny how people try, try so desperately, try so hard to claim someone as property. How people try to find best in people, how they do their best for them, how they do everything because they naturally are hastening to found someone to love, someone to give their selves they hope that they're the ones they're thinking about at night, but the trout is so tortured and so painful. Either you will find the joy in your life or you will just be free, free to hate your self, free to love your self. But we, humans, are created to be weak and even if we try to be strong there will always be something or someone that breaks us. Breaks into puzzle pieces, it's hard to cobbling together again. But we have to, that is our duty, the one that makes us open our eyes every day in the morning no matter how much we hate to get up from that damned bed.
The girl was now in the doorway, with the boy beside her. "We will not see each other again, will we?" The boy said with so deep voice and the girl just shook her head. "Okay" The boy nodded and they got down.
ten minutes after when Betty said goodbye to everyone, she got in the car with her parents on the font and her on the backseat. The car started to drive and she didn't bother to look back and check if Freddie and Lilith still were there, waving at her.
On the road it started to rain, knowing summer was over and for the first time in her life, Betty was happy for that.
