A lone traveler was speedily flying through a valley bordered on either side by snow covered mountains. He stopped suddenly as he had run into an invisible barrier. "Finally, I have arrived." he said. He then pronounced a single word and the barrier let him through. He then flew on until he reached a wide point in the valley with a large and busy city in the middle.
"Greetings Kalith." A voice said as a dragon flew down to meet him. "I have been instructed to take you to where the council is meeting." He said. "Thank you." Kalith said as he followed his guide. "You are aware that you are 15 minutes late, correct?" Asked the guide. "Yes," he said "That's why I brought this." He reached into the pocket of his magic robe and brought out a few cows. The guide smiled. "That may save you." He said.
After a few minutes, they arrived at the council center. "Enter here," the guide said pointing to the wide double doors. "Be on your guard, Kalith." "Will do, Thanks." He went through the doors and into the council center.
He entered into the council chambers to see a collection of presumed mythical creatures staring at him. "Hi." Kalith said smiling. "Kalith Stormson, explain your tardiness." Boomed a voice. "I have no reason but I did bring these and I hope they will satisfy your anger towards me for being late." He said as he pulled the many cows out of his robe and gave them to the council members.
"Refreshments are served. Is this enough or do I have to get more?" He asked. "If you think I am going to be satisfied by mere cows you are mistaken." said the Chairman. "I figured you say that so I brought you some more." He smiled as he gave the chairman some chicken and turkey. "Fine. You are excused. Have a seat." the Chairman said defeated. Kalith smiled and took his seat between a phoenix and a griffin.
