I can hear how
The hockey players
play down the ice rink
Did you remember
The first time I asked you
To skate with me?
I wanted to swaY
your body with mine
Dance with you
in my arms
Guide you around
And feel how the snow
Magically touch our skins
And smile
But kid,
You let go of my hands.
