Shit, this wasn’t good, Nick knew Connie said that she could handle this, but she had no idea what was coming.  There was a slight chance that the fans would be a little less harsh because she was a normal girl and not miss universe like his last girlfriend, but that was a very slim chance.  They seemed to hate any female that was around him, friend or not.  They hadn’t ventured onto twitter or other social media websites after seeing the article; they were both afraid of what they would see.  Connie wondered if it would just be easier to ignore them and go on and be happy together.  Nick did go away to college to get away from the fame, so maybe ignoring it would be best.

“Nick, what do you want to do?  I’m happy just moving on from this, I don’t ever use my twitter, and it’s not like they know my name so they can’t find me on Facebook.  Yes, it sucks this happened our first day as an official couple, but we both knew this would happen eventually.  I think you should just confirm it and move on and just ignore them.  You did come to college to get away from all of that right?  So, I think you should act like a normal college kid and post that shit on Instagram showing off your new relationship.”

He sighed and took her face in his hands, resting his forehead on hers. “You’re crazy you know that? Right but crazy.  I did come here to get away from the fans and to live a normal life.  So you know what, I’m going to do exactly that.”  He grabbed his phone off the desk, opening his Instagram app.  He selected the photo of them in front of the bean, deciding to leave the waterfall as their little secret.  He added a filter and the caption, ‘Enjoyed my first date with my lovely girlfriend Connie today.  Loving college so far, thanks for all the support!’  He turned the phone to her showing her the Instagram post before hitting the post button.

“See that wasn’t so hard was it?  But I can’t believe you did that! It almost wants me to start using my twitter!”  She laughed at his confused face, “We shocked their system, why not go further with it right?”

“I guess you’re right.” He laughed at her kissing her lips softly.  She smiled into their kiss, “You make me so happy Nick.”

She pulled out her phone opening the twitter app for the first time in what seemed like years.  The first thing she did was follow Nick, and then decided to retweet his tweet adding in a heart emoji.  She sat the phone on the desk next to his, “So, wanna watch a movie?”

He nodded his head, selecting the movie before pulling her into bed with him.  They fell asleep that night to the sound of both their phones constantly vibrating with notifications, but neither of them cared about anything but being in each other’s arms at that very moment.
