Connie returned to Nick's dorm after reluctantly leaving to shower and get ready for their date day. She couldn't believe everything that had happened that morning. She had only known Nick for a week, but here they were entering into a relationship. Normally, she would've been completely apprehensive of moving so fast, but with Nick she just knew she was doing the right thing. The fact that he was Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers completely blew her mind. Like he could literally have any girl in the world he wanted, but he chose her. It didn't bother her what he did before coming to college, she couldn't really judge him for things that she wasn't around for. To her, he was just a normal guy that she wanted to spend a ton of time with.
She knocked on his door, smoothing the blue dress she had decided to wear for their date. He opened the door and she had to remember to breathe. He was wearing dark jeans and a plain white v neck shirt with his dog tag hanging around his neck. She suddenly felt over dressed in her dress and jean jacket. But if she only knew that he was having a hard time taking his eyes off of her. She looked absolutely gorgeous.
It finally hit him that he was standing in the way of the door making her stand awkwardly in the hallway. "Oh yeah um come in."
She entered the room; "so where are we headed off to?"
"I figure we can head to millennium park and see the bean."
She laughed because that had been on the top of her Chicago bucketlist. "How'd you know that was the thing I most wanted to do in the city?"
"Really? It's the one thing I want to do, but I'm always worried about being recognized in such a high tourist area."
"Aren't you worried about that happening today?"
"Of course, but there's a difference this time."
"What?"
"You."
She couldn't help but blush at his statement as he shrugged on his brown leather jacket. They hailed a cab, both sitting in the back seat as close as possible. Nick's arm was resting along the headrests of the backseat and Connie had her head resting on his shoulder. Nick looked down at her with a smile on his face. He couldn't believe she was his. She looked up and caught him staring at her. "Staring is creepy Jonas."
He chuckled at her, "just happy with how everything has worked out."
"Millennium Park" the cab driver barked from the front seat. Nick paid him and took Connie's hand. It was amazing, their hands fit perfectly in each other, their fingers perfectly intertwined. They smiled together as they walked towards the famous bean. There was a slight breeze signaling autumn was going to be making an appearance soon.
They reached the bean and Connie instantly reached for her phone and started taking pictures. "Hey Nick let's get one of us and the bean!"
He smiled at her and went to stand next to her as they struggled to fit both of them and the bean in the frame. A young girl came up to them and asked if they needed help with taking the photo. They both looked at each other and nodded. Nick went to hand her the phone and she said
"Wait aren't you Nick Jonas?!"
