Nick and Connie woke up to the shrill ring of the alarm clock signaling that it was time to get ready for their first class, not wanting to move. Nick was on his back, Connie resting her head on his bare chest. Her fingers were playing with the chain that held his dog tag around his neck. She had a serious look on her face and Nick knew she was deep in thought. 

"Penny for your thoughts?" 

She chuckled at his question, "Nothing, I'm just thinking how much I don't want to leave this spot. Would it be horrible for us to play hooky this early in the semester?" 

Nick laughed at her and gave it serious thought, "I mean it is our first day as an official couple, so what the hell!" 

She chuckled and cuddled closer to him, Nick wrapping one arm around her, and placing the other behind his head. He was perfectly content in the moment. They both were fast asleep in each other's arms in minutes. 

A few hours later 

Connie woke up still resting on Nick's chest. He was still asleep, his mouth slightly open, his long lashes fluttering ever so slightly. He looked so peaceful sleeping. Connie couldn't believe the last few hours, she had only known Nick a week, but she was completely happy with how their relationship was progressing. She supposed she should be shocked that she was dating the Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, but she couldn't help but to think of him as a normal guy. That's all she's ever known him as. She was sure that her family and friends would freak out once they found out who she was dating, which is why she didn't plan on telling them anytime soon.  

Nick stirred in his sleep, opening his eyes and looking directly into Connie's. 

"Well good morning beautiful" he whispered in his sexy morning voice. Connie snuggled closer to Nick as he kissed her forehead. 

"So, Nick what are we doing on our first official day as a couple?" 

"Name it, whatever you want to do we will do." 

"I want to explore Chicago." 

Nick thought for a second, he had only been away at school for a week, but he was sure that word had gotten all over the gossip sites that this was the college he had chosen. He was almost guaranteed to get recognized if he stepped foot off campus. The thought of it scared him, but it wasn't the thought of getting recognized it was the thought of pulling Connie into the world of rabid fangirls. He liked her too much to do that to her. 

"Nick, what's wrong?" 

"What? Oh I was just thinking of if we went out and I got recognized with my beautiful girlfriend on my arm, I don't want the fangirls to have a hay day and send you a bunch of hate." 

Connie thought for a second, "That's sweet of you to worry about me like that Nick, but even though I see you as a normal guy, I know you are a rock star, and this is the life you live. I knew that getting into the relationship with you. So, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm okay with it. Are your PR people going to be okay with you going public with a girl so soon after trying to go out of the spotlight?" 

"I went away to college to get away from what everyone else wanted me to do, so frankly screw my PR people. Normal people don't hide their relationships. Of course, there's a chance we won't run into any fans and this conversation is for nothing." 

Connie smiled; she was ready to step out as a couple with Nick. She was excited that he was taking her out on their first date in the city that she had learned to love.
