"So how was it?! I'm super proud of you" my mom smiles as we drive home.

"It was okay, didn't do much. I'm glad I got to see finn and his cast!" I smile at her.

"Yeah I'm sure that was nice, anything big happen?" I think about lying to her but I don't.

"Mom.. finn and I kind of kissed at the airport" I say and she looks at me.

She smiles "that's news!" She laughs and so do I.

I look at my knee and for some reason these past few hours I feel something bad, like it's not right.

"Mom?" I ask her as we reach my house.

"Yeah?" She says parking the car.

"Can we go to the hospital?"
I say looking at her and she looks at me.

"For what?"

I look at my knee "I don't think it's alright"

She nods and we begin our drive to the hospital.

"What about volleyball" She asksZ

"Volleyball can wait until next year"

"That's my girl" She smiles at me.

I turn the radio up a bit and look outside at the rainy Vancouver city.

*at the hospital*

I can feel my phone vibrating in my pocket from the groupchat and I keep getting FaceTimes from the cast.

But I cant answer my phone since I have X-rays.

After about 2 hours we get X-rays back and a doctor comes in.

"So I've got some bad news, and good news" he says.

My mom tells him to go on.

"So, y/n's knee isn't the problem, it's right above her ankle she needs to have surgery" he says.
