why are you so bitter they ask
one drawn-out sigh later
i reply because the world plays me over and over
because it people try my patience and take my
kindness for weakness
they overestimate my strength
and underestimate my worth
and it makes me angry and helpless
against the flow of hurtful actions
belonging to those who do not matter
and yet i care anyways
