                                   Brady

Here I am.

On a strangers front porch.

In the rain.

Why am I even here? Why did I have to offer her that damn ride to her house?! I have to admit, it felt nice doing something for someone, but with her, it felt different.

Like I was a burden to her or something. She was obviously annoyed with me. I mean, I've only ever seen her talk to one person.

That girl that always tries to be friends with her. Melanie, I think her name was.

My thoughts were cut off from the realization that I was still standing in the rain.

Whoops.

I walk down the rickety steps that are painted white, and head to my car. I hop in my prized possession, and turn the key in the ignition. She roars to life, and before I know it, I'm on my way to my house.

10 minutes. 5 minutes. 2 minutes.

I pull into my driveway, and enter the code that allows the gates to open. I told you my parents were rich. My house is basically a mansion, not that I'm bragging or anything. Okay. Maybe a little bit.

"Brady, welcome back." The security guard exclaims. I think his name is Wren. I could be wrong.

"Glad to be back-" I glance at his name tag before continuing. "-Micheal" Damn. Better luck next time?

"You have company." He states. He noticed my questioning look and pursues on with the sentence. "Your friends." Oh. I forgot that Andrew and Nick were supposed to come over.

"Thanks. I'll see you later." I wave him off as I enter my house.

Of course, the first thing I see is Andrew going through the fridge like he's looking for buried treasure. "I hope you're late because you brought food for us." He says, looking up.

He looks disappointed, probably because of the lack of carbohydrates. "Sorry, I forgot you guys were coming over." I shrug.

"Then where were you?" Nick questions, and that's when I finally noticed he was sitting on a kitchen stool, too engrossed in his phone to even glance up at me.

"Uh, just out for a walk. Exercise, am I right?" I say, kind of squeaky. He obviously doesn't believe me, because of the scowl he passes my way.

"Yeah, right. And I was just riding a unicorn on my way to GayVille." He says, and I laugh.

"I wouldn't be surprised." Nick mutters. Andrew shoots him a look, telling him to shut up and starts calling him names.

"Now seriously, where were you?" Andrew asks again. Why can't I just tell him? I mean, that car ride that I offered her doesn't mean anything, right? Obviously not. So it shouldn't matter if I tell them or not.

Here it goes.

"Idroveameliatoherhouseafterdetention." I say quickly, and it comes out in a one word type of form.

"Say that again?" Nick says.

I took a deep breath.

"I drove Amelia to her house after detention." I finally say.

I watch their reactions, which vary from confused to 'what the fuck?'
