"I want you to be my boyfriend," she said as she was curled into his side, "like officially. And exclusively."
He grinned into her hair, "okay then, miss bossy."
She looked up, "is that a yes?"
Luca rolled his eyes before giving her a quick peck, "duh. Now sleep already. Hearing you whine all day gets me tired."
She also rolled her eyes but obeyed. Closing her eyes and letting his steady heartbeat lull her to sleep.

She awoke with a gasp, her dream causing an ache in her forehead and a lump in her throat.
She slipped out from under Luca and went to the kitchen. Sipping a glass of cold water she didn't expect to see him stumble into the kitchen.
He rubbed his eyes thoroughly, "What are you doing, bambina?"
Before she could think she said, "couldn't sleep." His eyebrows furrowed in worry.
"I just had a nightmare, s'all." She smiled at him genuinely.
"Well we've already used your trick for a good nights sleep, let's try mine." He grinned mischievously.
"Sure, cocktails help you get a goodnight but they don't give you a good morning. That's their major guarantee." She huffed drily.
Ignoring her purposefully, Luca went to the cabinet, "time to try 'il mix speciale di luca'!"

She watched his back flex as he shook the metal bottles. His scent mixed with some strange concoction had her forgetting how to speak.
He was mixing her fifth cup of the night, but really, one shot of whatever he made was enough to send her to bed. A sixth glass might've been enough to send her to hospital.
Fortunately, as she downed the fifth drink in four greedy gulps he finally decided that she'd had enough.
He guided her swaying frame back into bed, climbing in after her. She turned over so their chests were touching. He watched her nervously in anticipation.
"Is there anymore of that? Cuz it was fucking amazing."
