She woke up in bed alone. She knew this because there was no heat and she was curled up next to a pillow.

Yawning she stretched up from the bed, she groaned as the a harsh throb of her head reminded her how she slept so snug last night.

Laying in bed for a while later she heard Luca talking on the phone and she could smell something like bacon sizzling.

"Capisco la mamma ... naturalmente mi manca la casa ..." She ignored is Italian mumbling and went to the bathroom.

She finished freshening up and quietly made her way to the kitchen, her nose leading her.

"sì so cosa abbiamo concordato ma ... come hai saputo che era una ragazza?" He looked up at her as he heard her stumble into the kitchen, pointing at a green thick liquid, a glass of water and some painkillers he had set on the counter for her.

She smiled thankfully as she downed it all.

"devo andare adesso, ti parlerò presto." He then clicked off the phone and passed her a plate of eggs and various meats.

He seemed nervous as she ate, rubbing his hands down his face and pulling at the hairs at the nape of his neck. She frowned as he went to go yank another sleek curl, she tugged his hand away, instead holding it in her own.

"Pooja," he sighed heavily, "what if I told you I was going back to Italy."

She laughed, he couldn't be serious. But one look at his face made her cease: his eyes were darting everywhere but her face and he was gripping her hand tighter than before.

She fumbled with her tongue for a second, "uh,..when?"

"After this year."

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"What about.. the apartment?" They both knew that wasn't what she wanted to ask.

"You can get a new roommate."

"I can't just replace my boyfriend though," she whispered even thought it was silent.

The air left his lungs in a breath. "I'm not asking you to. You could...come with me?"

"Come with you? You're asking a lot."

"I know, I don't mean to pressure you like this."

There was a silence in which she thought about it. What did she have to lose? She could go, she was an adult and she was in the same year as him. They would both be finished with university by the time they would move to Italy.

She had no family, her friends could visit but she could make new friends.

"You can come for a holiday, if you like it you can stay," he pleaded with her, "I don't want to lose you."

Pooja stared at Luca, and she realised just how much she loved him. She didn't want to lose him either.

She said something that had Lucas face split into a wide grin before he kissed her sporadically, "okay."
