Day seven of the ultimatum.
10:00a.m

"That's it guys, you'll simply have to hunt them down and do it discretely." Philip instructed and the guys lined up in front of his office nodded and awaited other commands which never came.

"You may leave now."

The men turned to their left and walked out through the door in a single file. Their synchronized movements made me almost believe they were robots. But, that's probably how they were trained.

I moved my gaze to Philip who happened to regard me in an odd manner.

"If there's any news, I'll pass on the information through my P.A," Philip pushed his swivel chair back and peeled his frame from it.

I didn't wonder why he was suddenly acting civilly. My little adventure with Peter last night was the sole cause of his attitude. Honestly, I felt terrible on the inside.

"Philip,"  I broke away from Peter's embrace and met Philip's unbelieving eyes. He took a deep breath in and cursorily glanced at Peter who refused to let go of my hand.

"I..."

"Everyone I have ever loved ends up trampling upon my love."

His voice quivered, heavy with sorrow. He gave me one last look, a look that would haunt me for eternity. He turned  around and  walked away before I could speak.

I wiped the drops of tears that fell from my eyes with the back of my hand.

Why did Peter come at the wrong time? He would have simply visited me some other time. Now Philip made me feel miserable like I had killed him already.

I looked around his office but he wasn't anywhere in it. He might have left while I was mentally blaming myself for his emotional state. Silently, I left the comfort of the swivel chair which was directly opposite where Philip could have seated.

After taking a gaze around his office which had not changed much since the last time I saw it, I hurried out of the office before he came back with that icy stare of his that accused me of a lot of things I hadn't done. I wished I was guilty of the things he silently held me responsible for because at least, I wouldn't have felt as bad as I did right now.

Before I slid into the elevator which was a couple of feet away from Philip's office, someone from behind violently pushed me into the metallic box and the light steps I heard behind me proved that the assaulter had entered the elevator with me. The person's actions made me suspicious but I remained calm irrespective of the fear that was trying to fill my body.

I glimpsed at the man whose back was staring at me, he pressed the button for the 64th floor which was the highest level of Nicholas Corporation and I immediately realized that something wasn't right somewhere.

With shaky hands, I tried sending an SOS message to Peter but my phone was forcefully tugged out of my hand. My eyes moved to observe the murderous glare of the man. He was in a pair of black chinos and a sparkling white singlet hugged the upper part of his body, on his feet were a pair of combat boots. I took notice of the numerous tattoos that designed his hands, neck and some parts of his back left exposed by the curve of the singlet at that point. I had detected the former when his back was turned.

"What do you want from me?" I demanded, feigning braveness. I could only trust that he didn't discern my fright and my ' reaction ' that was struggling to surface.

"Trust me, you don't wanna know what I want from you, or do you?" His eyes wandered all over my body and lingered on my bust which recently became enlarged when it got to that time of the month. I suddenly became aware of what he meant and backed away from him.

"There's no need to run away from me because it's you and me now," He displayed a smile which was as dubious as his personality.

The last thing I remembered was dropping to the metallic floor and his shocked face was the last thing I set my eyes on.

Way to charge things up...

Good morning /night everyone,  I'm really grateful to you for reading my book. By seeing your votes and reads, I'm motivated to do more.

As you might have noticed, I did a flashback which is something I haven't tried out until now.

This is my second update for this week. Saturday's and Sunday's might not be favourable for my update, so...

My school's organizing a ' show ' and I volunteered to help out set things up, alongside others. Therefore, I won't be available this weekend.

As a compensation, the next chapter's gonna be really lengthy.

Don't forget to send out the ' word ' if you like this book,

Your one and only Tris❤❤❤❤
