Do you know what's worth fighting for?
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away and you feel yourself suffocating?
"Gurl, where have you been?" Maggie waved a hand in front of my face, bringing me back to reality. Back into the cafe where me and my bestfriend were watching the news that showed how a thousand people died yesterday. I hated the reality. I mean, what did I have? My parents died in a bomb blast a week ago. The love of my life is in the army, fighting for a change in our country which is never going to happen. I am living with my bestfriend, Maggie who also lost her mother in the blast. Reality sucks.
"uhm, I'm right here." I said, taking a sip from my coffee.
"Here. Right." she took a bite from her chicken grilled sandwich. "Megan, when did you talk to Ethan last?"
Ethan. I had been saying this name over and over in my head, now it sounded so wierd, hearing it in someone else's voice.
I missed him so much it hurts.
"I talked to him last. For a few seconds. There was an emergency and he had to leave." I told her with tears in my eyes.
She pulled me into a tight hug and whispered "It's okay" again and again. It echoed in my head for the rest of the day, but not even a single part in my body believed it. How was it okay?
When we got home, or Maggie's home, I took a shower and changed into my pjs. I went up to the terrace and had a conversation with the stars. "Mom." I said to the stars. "Dad. How could you leave me here? Leave me when I need you the most." I took a deep breathe and wiped my tear away.
"I miss you, so much. Come back. Please come back." I stared at the stars for a while. My throat felt so dry, I could hardly speak.
The next second, I heard a loud boom from a distance. "What the-" I watched from the terrace, I could see fire. It was pretty far, but I could tell it was from the field. The field where soldiers were trained. Ethan.
I ran downstairs, opened every room in the house but I found no one. I went outside the house and saw the whole population of our town standing together. I heard whispers, cries, screams. I looked around for Maggie but she was no where in sight. I ran back inside the house and picked the cardless. I dialed Ethan's number but I was redirected to his voice, "hey this is Ethan, Leave a message after the beep!" I dropped the cardless onto the floor. My vision became blurry, My eyes were becoming narrower and narrower every second. It felt like all the oxygen have been sucked out of my lungs. Before dropping to the floor, I whispered "Ethan."

My eyes opened at the sound of another boom. I looked around and saw where I was. I was in the hospital. The only hospital in the town.
Dr. Marie walked towards me with a syringe. Oh, no. I freaked out and got uo from my bed.
"Hey, Megan. Stay where you are. We need to do this." She said in a calm tone. "Your body needs vitamin D. Come on, stop acting like a ten year old."
I moved towards the bed and allowed her to inject me. I didn't even feel anything. But it was hurting. Hurting to not know the truth. I had to find out where Ethan was.
When Dr. Marie left, I managed to sneak out of the room #307. I looked around to find where Ethan was. If he was hurt, He had to be in this hospital.
First going to the left, then right, then right again and then left, I finally found the reception. A lady which glasses, and black curky hair was sitting there. I went to her and asked her about Ethan.
"Ethan who?" She asked.
"Ethan Howard. He is a soldier." or was. The lady opened her register and looking from the top to the bottom.
"No, miss. No Ethan Howard." I gave a sigh of relief. That means Ethan is still out somewhere.
