When You Meet Gilderoy Lockhart(-_-)'

*(Y/N)'s P.O.V.*

Over the summer, Severus and I grew closer together. He would take me to the library and I would show him muggle objects and tell him about their purposes and uses. It was so cute when he would get confused because he would look like a lost puppy! Well, that's besides the point I'm trying to get at. The real point is: we have a new DADA teacher at Hogwarts, and based on what Minerva told me, I shouldn't be within sight of him at all times........'I wonder why?' I thought to myself. I wasn't going to starve myself this morning because of that warning, so I made my way to the Great Hall to eat breakfast.

As I made my way to the staff table, I noticed there was an empty seat next to mine. 'Huh, he must not be here yet,' I thought to myself. I make my way over to sit down, greeting Severus with a smile and a little hug around his shoulders. "Good morning, Severus! You ready to torture children this year?" He faces me with a small smirk, "When am I not?" We both chuckle. "Well, it seems you two are getting along well this morning," a voice spoke.

"Good morning, Professor McGonagall," Severus and I spoke at the same time. "Good morning, you two. (Y/N), you should probably head to your classroom now," Minerva spoke with a voice filled with warning. I sigh, "Why do I need to go now? I haven't even eaten yet! Is this new professor that scary, you need to hide me so I don't die of fright?" Severus chuckled and answers my questions, "Well, he is certainly not frightening, but he is EXTREMELY annoying and narcissistic. Everyone knows him as-" "IT'S GILDEROY LOCKHART!!" ".....Gilderoy Lockhart, as the fangirls call him," Severus finished and deadpanned.

I turn my head to the doors of the Great Hall and see almost ALL of the female students gather around a not-so-handsome red-haired man. He showed an award-winning smile that made a few of the girls faint on the spot. I deadpan along with Severus, followed by Minerva and the rest of the professors. He starts walking towards the staff table, so Minerva sat down and I began to eat my breakfast. He comes up to the table and speaks, "Good morning, fellow staff members! Breakfast looks delicious!" Some of the professors replied back while the rest of us, including Severus and I, continued to eat like he wasn't there.

'Please don't notice me, please don't notice me, please don't notice me, Senpai!' "And who are you, my lovely lady~?" He noticed me...GREAT. "I am Professor Snape's assistant, and I am NOT your lovely lady," I answer him strictly with a low voice. He moves his face a little closer-too close for comfort. "So feisty....I like it." I tilt my head away from him as far as I could, to the point where it laid on Severus's shoulder. He then held my hand and raised it to his lips. "You may know me, but I would like to introduce myself anyway; Gilderoy Lockhart, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and may I ask, has anyone told you how beautiful you are?" He asked me as he kissed my hand. I gag on the inside. I answered him with no expression, "Actually, quite a few, but they never saw the light of day again when they advanced on me."

"Professor Lockhart, please refrain yourself from flirting with other teachers during school hours. We must teach our students the very best and set an example, and so far, you are making a poor example of good behaviour," Severus warned him with a threatening tone in his deep voice. Lockhart immediately coward back and sat in his seat in fright. I turn my head to face Severus and mouth a 'thank you.' He mouthed back, 'You're welcome." Breakfast finally commenced with a tense atmosphere between Professor Snape and Professor Lockhart with poor me in the middle, but I acted like nothing was wrong and began to eat.

'Severus actually sounded pretty hot when he threatened Lockhart,' I thought to myself. Then I blushed realizing what I just thought.

*Severus's P.O.V.*

'If Lockhart thinks he can win over (Y/N) with flirting like that, he's got another thing coming,' I thought to myself as I glared at the food in front of me. When Lockhart started to flirt with (Y/N), there was this weird feeling in me, as if my anger was in my stomach and I wanted to get that feeling out by strangling him! No matter, I can help (Y/N) keep away from him if he flirts on her again. And I won't hesitate to hex him if it gets the message across to him that (Y/N) isn't interested in the likes of him.
