MH's POV
It hadn't been the first time to sit on an interview as early as 7 o'clock. The chill of the morning air wisped around the city but since summer was almost approaching, it'd only last before lunchtime. Surprisingly, the streets weren't fully loaded yet maybe because people preferred the easier routes on the other main street than here.
Then the interviewer went on after a series of endorsement-related queries: You always get asked about your ideal type on women so I'll skip that. We both laughed. Your birthday is still 4 months away...
Yes. More than 4 months away. I said.
On your last birthday, you were once asked if what would be the greatest gift that you want to have. And you answered that you want a girlfriend. Which obviously you hadn't received.
No I was only joking that time. I spoke in my mind. Because I already had one since more than two years ago. I couldn't help but snicker.
Now, do you still have the same wish? Do the qualities that you look for in a girl change?
No, it doesn't. Because I think it'll only change if you happen to meet or socialize with new people and get to date a couple of them. I replied then realized what was missing so I clarified. I mean the opposite sex. Since we are talking about my ideal type of girl. And I still managed to crack a joke. I didn't mean it as a joke though. Maybe it was the coffee. They served me a coffee instead of bottle of water like what I usually get in interviews. Luckily though, that made the lady interviewer laughed again. I added: Also, since I'm currently busy filming my TV series, apart from overseas trips, I did not get to contact with a lot of people. I still have the same number and circle of friends. That's how narrow my social network is.
People usually buy these kind of answers so I only had to stick with it.
I thought we were going to shift to another topic since I mentioned "social network", but she was never getting away with it. If you finally get a girlfriend, are you going to reveal it?
I wanted to burst into at least a suppressed low chuckle to let out the pressure but my desire to get straight to the point got me first. I don't think I'll be able to do that. That's a personal thing. I said and it took me a battle just to keep my voice from sounding too rigid. I wouldn't want them to be suspicious. I don't want people to assume or imagine things every time they see me on TV. I just want them to get lost with whatever character I decide to play. Not only with the Lee Min Ho himself because it would just be...inappropriate. Especially-let's take I would be playing as someone who raises a Lung Cancer campaign in a drama, but since everyone knew that I smoke in real life, it would be awkward, they'll say Song Joong Ki should replace me because he doesn't smoke. But I appreciate you asking. I laughed a little. So as the interviewer as if I had just mended the rejection. Well it wasn't rejection but as a public figure...when you tell them that you want to keep things in private, it just seems like it...it was already a dismissal for them. I felt lighter though. I loved how loose the feeling was when you just said everything that you wanted for them to realize. Though I wasn't sure if ever they'd got what I was actually trying to imply.
Then the interviewer only said. We understand.
More answers would only lead to more questions. One way to survival was to let them go.
The question and answer proceeded on promoting Prosecutor's Enemy, my latest drama to be scheduled to air two days from now. We got to talk about some points in the plot, the characters, what the people should look forward into, all that stuff. Until we wrapped up by sending virtual greetings to the audience considering we weren't live but recorded. So it was either that they'd be editing or cutting out some parts. I wondered which parts. I didn't remember anything that was worth the edit or most especially the cut. That was at least for me.
