None of us spoke on the journey back to the campsite, it may have only been a 10 or so minute walk, but it felt like a lifetime.
I didn't know what to say, or every time a phrase came into my head, I didn't know how to word it.
We get back, Lori, Rick and Carol looked pale and concerned, great, we got caught.
"Where did you think you were going?!" Lori shouts, looking me and Carl directly, while Carol and Rick stand there, arms crossed, deeply unimpressed with our actions.
Carl didn't speak, his eyes just trailed along the dusty floor below us, so I thought I may as we'll speak up.
"I told Carl and Sophia about an old, abandoned military camp there's within half a mile radius of this place." I say, taking a deep breath, although Lori seemed relatively calmer, but that may be because I wasn't her child.
"But, when we got there. it wasn't empty, they were taking people in and.." I took a pause, I didn't know how to phrase it, I couldn't say they were shooting people here, there and everywhere. "They were keeping themselves safe, not worrying about the civilians they took in." I say, I think I worded it okay.
"What do you mean?" Rick asks, taking a step forward, closer to us.
"They were killing them." Carl interrupted me before I even had a chance to speak.
"What would you want us to do about it?" Shane says, laughing.
"They were killing children, women." I spit out at Shane, he was a right son of a bitch.
"That's my problem because?"
"They will come and kill us."
"You know this how?" Lori said.
"Isn't it obvious? We are a ten minute walk away! One day, sooner or later, they will find our camp!" I shout.
"Keep it down, they might hear us." Shane sarcastically says.
"So, what do we do about it?" Rick asks.
"I was thinking.." I say, looking at Carl and Sophia and they nod in sync.
"We were thinking, we take over the camp?" We all say simaltaniously, and by the looks on everyone's faces, I don't think they agreed.
"Are you mad? We will all die." Dale says. "We have hardly any weapons. This is crazy."
"No! No! wait, my dad gave me keys to a warehouse. He said 'you'll get everything you need.' We need to check it out, it will have supplies." I say, the sudden thought rushes through my head.
"Where abouts?"
"King Edward Estate. Round the back are the warehouses. Number 14." I say.
"Let's go then." Rick says.
But no one else moved.
"We need this. She has a point." Rick says.
