red and yellow- heathers

hey...   (story is next chapter)
wow?! I'm writing about another musical besides great comet!
Well, that's new!
so yeah, this is based upon the musical "heathers".
the original movie/story is written by Daniel Waters, so clearly I do not own the plot, or characters, or any of that!
the musical is by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy, so again, I do not own it!
so, that was just a quick disclaimer, now on to some more info!

so the main ship in this is heather chandler x heather mcnamara.
this isn't exactly a very popular ship, but after being in this show and working on it for like 2 months and analysing and watching it a lot, this ship somehow stuck with me?

I suppose I just noticed that heather chandler is constantly harassing heather duke, but never says anything mean to heather McNamara.

I just found this to be rather odd.

and also the idea that heather mac refers to heather chandler as her "best friend", during her little pre-lifeboat monologue.

From Veronica's narration, you sort of get the idea that the heathers aren't "real friends", and are only out to get each other.
this is supported by the fact that heather chandler is shamelessly cruel to heather duke, and after heather chandler's death, heather duke is more confident and happy.
and how heather duke tries to convince heather mcnamara to kill herself, as though it was nothing.
but heather mcnamara seems to of genuinely cared for heather chandler.

and also, in the production I was apart of, the heather chandler, Kurt, and Ram sat on stage the whole time, reacting to the scene's happening on stage.
and during lifeboat, shine a light reprise, and when heather mac takes the pills, heather chandler was crying, and shaking her head, and trying to reach out to her, and it was pretty heart breaking and omg that gave me this idea.

so yah, that's why I tend to ship them!
of course, you're not expected to magically start shipping this, but I thought I'd just give a brief explanation as to why I do.

now this story, holds mentions of self harm, and depression, so if that in any way triggers you, please do not read.

there's no cursing.
and you could interpret certain lines as having minor sexual undertones, but you could also interpret their relationship to being only romantic...so that's up to you, to decide!
