Illusion

Chapter: 11

*FLASHBACK*

"What's up?" Grayson asked over the phone.

"Just got home from St. Cloud with Johordan and Annessa. What are you and Ethan doing?" I laid down on my bed.

"Nothing much. Just editing a video for our channel." I forgot Tuesday is coming up soon.

"I can't wait to watch it."

"Yeah, this is a funny one." Gray chuckled.

"Oh boy, what's it about?" I raised a brow.

"You'll just have to wait and see on Tuesday." He teased.

"Uh! Why can't I know?" I asked.

"Because it's a secret." He chuckled. Hearing him chuckle over the phone made my heart skip a beat.

"Ethan!" I hollered, knowing I was on speaker phone.

"No Ashlea, I will not tell you what next week's video is." He chuckled and I pouted.

"You guys are assholes." I huffed.

"We may be." Grayson and Ethan laughed.

*PRESENT*

Today was my birthday. My 21st birthday. It landed on a Thursday and luckily, I got Friday, Saturday and Sunday off for it. My sister wanted to take me out on Saturday. Nessa, Paytn and Johordan were all tagging along.

I was off work and I had already taken a shower. My mom told me I needed to take a shower and get ready because I was going to go out tonight.

So I had my hair brushed and down its natural straight and I had skinny jeans on with a bright red flowing top. My makeup was natural and flowy for the day.

I ran upstairs to see when my mom wanted to leave. When I got upstairs, the house was empty. My dad was at work and my mom had left me a note.

Ashlea,
Went to Brenda's house. You'll be going out soon. Love you! -Mom

I furrowed my brows in confusion. If I wasn't going out with my mom, then who was I going out with? I shrugged my shoulders and headed back downstairs.

When I got downstairs, it was quiet. Too quiet. It felt like someone was down here with me.

I creeped around the corner to go to the basement door. When I saw the door, it was cracked open just maybe half an inch. It wasn't like that when I went upstairs. I turned around from the door to see a birthday bag sitting on the table.

I smiled. I walked over and grabbed the card that was sticking out of it.  I ripped it open and read it.

I smiled down at the card. I looked in the bag. I removed the tissue paper to see what was inside. There was a new phone case for my phone. There was a wolf with a dream catcher on the back of it with a sticky note saying 'This one is from me! -E'. Then there was a box with a beautiful bracelet in it. It was rose gold and it had a heart and the word Always carved into it. This one was from Gray. It was so beautiful. I slipped the bracelet on my wrist, which fit perfectly.
