Not as elegant, Not as pretty

All these bodies are dropping to the floor like rain from the sky

But not as elegant, not as pretty.

They lay on dirt like flowers drifting to the floor

But not as elegant, not as pretty.

The maggots eat away their souls like citrus acid wears down teeth

But not as elegant, not as pretty.

Because in their world things like elegance and prettiness do not exist.

They believe in skin and bones.

They believe in miles and miles of ugly, filthy skin.

They believe in hate and pain.

They believe they are not enough.

However, all these bodies continue to drop in to the dirt with their maggot filled souls

Because they were not as elegant, not as pretty.

Because they were not enough.
