A/N: This is a story dedicated to one of my best friends, like, ever. She is like the smartest person ever and she plays like a shit ton of instruments. Hope ya like it!

Band recitals were the worst. Especially since I have first chair, and I have to do a solo.
As any musician would be, I was nervous. I do practice, and my instructor says I'm good at it, but I can't help but to have this feeling.
"Knock, knock." Dean says, opening my door anyways. "Hey." I say, sitting solemnly on the bed. "Hey, don't worry. You're awesome at your piccolo." "Flute. But, thank you, De. Oh, is Jack coming, too?" I said, regretting my words instantly.
"And why would that matter?" He asked. He looked at me with such annoyance, but I continued. "Because Jack is as much part of this household as anyone else, and he told me that wants to go." I said, with as much confidence as I could gather. Dean grimaced a bit then finally agreed.
At the recital, there were people everywhere. Families were sitting nearest to their child, taking photos of them. Staff members were gathering the band students, directing them to their seats, and the conductor was setting up at the front. I got out my flute and started to warm up. At the corner of my eye, I saw a hand wave vigorously in the air. It was Jack. I snickered and waved back. Dean had to grab his arm to make him stop.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The conductor tapped her stick to grab everyone's attention. I got into playing position and I started to play at the signal. I read the sheet music, it was "Darklands March", one of my favorites. I looked up from my sheet for a second, looking at Jack. He had the widest smile in the world, staring at awe at the intricate movement my hands were doing, and gave me a thumbs up. I started to focus back on the piece, my solo creeping towards me. Then the bass instruments rested, and I stood up. It was my time to shine. Dean and Sam were smiling and watching with intense focus and Jack had his mouth wide open, like he's never seen something this awesome before. I finished out strong with an F sharp, and finally, I sat down, and the song continued.
After the recital, Sam and Dean were like little fan girls, jumping up and down at my feet, hugging me and giving me high fives. I walked towards Jack, who was smiling more than ever. "You did awesome!" He exclaimed. "Think so?" I asked. He nodded in enthusiasm, "Thanks." I smiled.

A/N: Hello! I really wanted to do this for my friend cuz she's awesome and she helped me with my writers block and stuff, so thank you!
