Chapter 2: In the hotel...

Issa's POV

"So why are you here?" I asked as Peri sighed while walking with ajhumma and the girls tailing behind her.

"My parents wanted me to rule over the kingdom... and kill me, the prince and his family" she sorrowfully whispered as I gasped a bit.

"W-why?" I asked worriedly.

"They want the kingdom for themselves" she said in a sad tone as I comforted her. What kind of sick parents would do such a thing?! Of course I have parents who actually kidnapped me for me to be in this contest but... they would never kill me! You know why? No one is going to 'take care' of them.

"Now ladies. You'll be staying here overnight. You may chose your own roommate and we'll be taking the carriage tommorow towards the castle. Have a goodnight" ajhumma said and left us not before bowing. Me and Peri went to our room and changed into pajamas that has been prepared for us. Of course, it has to be nighties. Mine was a black nightie but it was less revealing than the one I wore when I got here. I look like Yuno freaking Gasai! I looked back and saw Peri in a white nightie.

"You look so pure" I said and she started laughing.

"Yeah. I LOOK pure but in reality.... I'm not" she said and wiggled her eyebrows. I started laughing out loud and she did aswell. She came to a hault and I did after letting my laughter out.

"You know, your eyes are very unique. It's like... fire" she said neared me. I smiled and waved my arm around.

"Nah. It's not THAT unique" I said, a bit flustered at her compliment.

"Not THAT unique?! Did you know that only 00000.1% people in the world have the Lamperá Mátia?" She said as I looked at her in pure confusion.

"Lamperá Mátia?" I asked with the words rolling out of my tongue like it's natural to me.

"It means 'glowing eyes' in Greek" she yawned and laid down on the bed. Glowing eyes in Greek? There's actually something like that? Is it a curse or is it a blessing? Why only 00000.1% people have this? Why is it amber? Are there other colours? What can these eyes do other than glow? Does it JUST glow? Does it shoot lazers? Okay. I'm basically being a kid right now. I need answers.

"Hey... Peri. What does it do other tha-" I was cut off when I spun my head around to see her sleeping on the bed. I smiled but that faltered quickly.

"I wonder if what you went through is worse than what I'm going through....." I mumbled as she shifted a bit. I let out a chuckled and covered her in her blanket so that she won't get cold. I then yawned and layed on my own bed, my eyelids getting heavier and heavier until I fell asleep.

All I can do for the meantime is sleep and dream about good things that might happen tommorow.

I woke up in a jolt when I heard an ear piercing sound. It's like... a mic has dropped.Peri must've heard that too since she sat up quickly. We covered our ears as we both groaned and sighed in relief once it was over.

"What was that awful noise?" I asked and she shrugged.

"Probably the-" she was cut off short when the ajhumma from last night walked inside the room with a rack full of dresses and 2 women, who are probably in their mid-twenties, are tailing behind her.

"Alarm" Peri finished as the ajhumma smile brightly.

"Good morning ladies. We'll be going to the castle today in about a few hours so better get ready. These fine women will help you getting your bath ready and doing your dresses, makeups and the likes. No time to lose now! Chop chop!" Ajhumma said while clapping twice before disappearing through the door as the two women rushed towards, supposingly, the bathroom.
