The Marauders Through Time

Chapter 5

***James POV***

I cant't believe I marry Lilly! This is just too unreal! But the problem is we don't get to live the rest of our lives together because of that stupid little rat! How could he betray us after all that we have done for him. I think we just might kill him before this Voldemort dude can! Enough of the mental talk now James tune in now! I mean it now!!!

"Wait a minute... Can we talk to you guys in private for a bit? I think I know what's going on!" Hermione says and we all nod our heads at her. Oh no we're busted oh tell Lilly I love her because Dumbledore is going to go all auror on us and kick our asses!

We walk with her and we leave the common room. Sadly Ron and Harry didn't come with us so they probably not going to find out 'til we get back. This is going to be hard to explain twice!

We end up on the seventh floor just outside of the room of requirement. How does she know about this?! She must have the marauders map! Damn I'm glad we made that thing!!!

"In here and be quiet!" Hermione said as she had just made a door appear in the middle of the wall. That's something you see everyday!

We all walked into the room. It looked amazing! It was an exact replica of the common room and you could see the patron us of everybody that was in it in real life. There was a stag which is probably Harry's patronus sitting on a chair by the fire. There was an otter and I'm guessing that's Ron sitting on the sofa beside him and you could here their voices coming from the patronus'.

"I think it's time that we both had some answers" said Hermione looking at each of us sternly. Oh she's to much Lilly! "I thought about this room because it can show you the past and the present but never the future for the future is undecided as of right now because it is our choices that create it."

"So just so we are all on the same page who do you think we are?" Said Remus and I thought he was the smart one.

"Oh right James Potter, Lilly Evans,Sirius Black,Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew," she said the last name with particular disgust.

"Right so all we do is ask the room a question and it will show us that event." Asked Lilly looking at Hermione Sceptically. I noticed Remus was looking at Hermione with googly eyes and admiration. Got to watch that relationship.

"Precisely now would you like to know how you died?" She asked me and Lilly and we both nodded vigorously. Hermione closed her eyes and it looked like she was thinking very carefully because her nose screwed up in concentration.

All around us the common room slowly faded out and Godrics hollow slowly faded in. The room zoomed into number 7 and we watched a slightly older me take off his invisibility cloak and run inside looking panicked.

"Lilly!" He yelled and frantic footsteps sounded down the stairs and an older version of Lilly came running down the stairs with a baby Harry in her arms.

"Take Harry upstairs and put him in his cot and stay with him! I was chased down the street by Inferior Lilly! He's coming! Peter told on us and now we're going to die! Go! I'll stall him as long as possible! I love you Lilly!" He said and gave her a short kiss and after she told him that she loved him too she ran upstairs just as a light was shone in the keyhole.

The front door was blasted down and in came a handsome young man with dark hair and eyes as red as blood.

"Ah James we meet again. I just came from murdering the Longbottoms and you are second on my list tonight! Ready to die?" He asked while cackling menacingly sending shivers down my spine.

"Not really but if it saves my wife and son I'm all for it! Expelliamus!" Older me said but it didn't work well because the two spells joined in the middle and the green was already overpowering the red. The green one and my wand broke and I fell back onto the ground lying dead. The man started walking up the stairs until he came to a room where he heard crying and a woman quietly singing a song to the quiet child. He knocked on the door and the singing stopped. There was soft footsteps on the ground and older Lilly opened the door and her face paled.

"Hello Lilly I just killed James and now it's time for your death sentenced!" He said and started laughing the same way he did for me.

"No! You will not touch my son you can kill me but leave harry please!" She screamed and then slammed the door shut. He blasted it down aswell and another green light came from his wand but instead of Hitting Harry Lilly jumped I front of it taking the blow and then slumping to the ground dead. The man slowly made his advance onto Harry and held up his wand menacingly.

Just as he said the curse and the light came from the wand, it bounced off of a shield thing that had just formed around Harry and rebounded hitting him instead the man disapperated just as the curse hit him and soon was gone. When I looked back at Harry there was a lightening shaped scar that had formed on his head that I had failed to notice in the common room earlier.

The scene soon faded and turned back to the common room again but Harry and Ron's Patronuses were not here this time. Everyone
Poked at Lilly and I and realised we both had tears poring down our faces. She ran into my arms and sat crying there for a while as everyone else just sat silently waiting for her to calm down.

Suddenly from behind me, I noticed Harry and Ron whip off my invisibility cloak and Harry was on tears while Ron just stood there awkwardly.

"Come here, son, I know you just heard everything" I said I between sobs and Harry came running towards us and we all sat crying into each others arms.

"Now that you have your answers I want mine, how did you get here?" Hermione asked looking at us affectionately.

"We're from the past" Remus said and Hermione and Ron's jaws dropped. This is going to take a lot more explaining than I thought.
