The Marauders Through Time

Chapter 10

The next couple of weeks kind of flew by and it was two days until the first task. I have been using my metamorphagus powers more than ever and it was really funny when i showed them to everyone I seen. They all had to do double takes.

Hermione, Remus and I have been helping James and Harry a lot but we dont know what the first task is but we dont know how to prepare and Hermione and Remus arent helping by sneaking off to 'get more books' next thing we know we look round a corner and they are standing there, for everyone to see, snogging. God could the GET a ROOM!!!

Ron and Sirius havent been talking to us either and its really starting to piss me off. It wasnt Harry and James' fault that they were mysteriously entered into the goblet and picked to compete in this stupid Tournament.

Hermione, Remus and I were just sitting in the common room studying and looking for stuff to help Harry and James when the two of them come bursting in through the portrait hole.

"Dragons!" they chorus wide eyed and looking like they just had the fright of their life.

"Excuse me but what do you mean?" Remus asks cautiously because we all know what is coming.

"Dragons, that is the first task!" James says sitting beside me putting his head in his hands. HermIone, Remus and I share looks as this changes everything.

"We need to go to the library we need tohelp you!" Hermione rambles and grabs her bag. Harry runs to his dorm and grabs his cloak and we all struggle to hide imbeneath it but manage all the same.

When we get to the library we all split up and tell madame Pince that we are here to do research for the first task. She is reluctant but obligues all the same.

"Everyone split up!" James barks and we all go and look in different places, making sure that Hermione and Remus arent searching in the same spot 'cause who knows what will happen.

I grab five books entitled 'Dragon Care', 'Scaly wings,soft heart', 'Dragon troubles?', 'Dragons and where to find them' and 'Dragon self defense'. I Run back to a desk and sit beside James who has his nose screwed up in confusion and flipping through pages frantically. I giggle a bit but then start to do the same but without the nose scrunching thing.

We all sit there in silence until Harry jumps up from his seat and starts dancing around in like something like a little ritual.

"I looked up the rule book, it doesn't say anything about not being alowwed to use a broom!" Harry says in triumph and James jumps up too and does a little dance of his own but then Hermione had to go and rain on their parade.

"You need atleast one spell to distract the dragon and unless you are going to release the snitch and compete for it ther is no luck!" Hermione says matter-of-factly. James starts to look like a little kid at christmas.

"She was joking Prongs!" Remus sighs exasperatedly.

"But it could work, I'll just borrow one from the school and charm it so it keeps the dragon occupied, won't burst into flames when fire is breathed on it and gives me enough time to get that golden egg!" James says getting happier each time. We all nod at each other looking like we have come to the conclusion that he is a complete nutter but a genius.

"Yeah! And mini Prongs can use a fire repellent spell on himself and his broom so that he won't die!" Remus says and we all start to laugh except Harry who looks at him sceptically.

"Mini Prongs?" he says while raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah it kind of fits!" Remus says and we all burst into another round of laughter.

Today is the day! Today is the day of the First task.

We all got up extra early even though the task is at midday and headed off to classes. We all were to excited to pay attention because we were all so excited. The techers all gave up on us, all except Snape who even gave us extra homework!

The day flew by and we all made our way down to the arena where the champions would all enter one at a time to rty and retrieve their eggs. They gave us a speech on what was going to happen and then Fleur came out and started to battle with her dragon that I think is a Welsh green.

She dodged eyery flame pretty well except one that got her dress and she just grabbed her egg and ran around screaming until Madame Pomphrey came and put it out and took her inside to deal with her burns. She got scores of 7 10 and 6. Guess who the ten was from.

Viktor came out and started battleing his chinese fireball. He used reducto and tried blinding it a few times but that only backfired and ended up stampling the real eggs which was specifically said that the champions wher to avoid making the dragons do this. He got the egg a little quicker than Fleur but not much he got scores of 8, 7 and 10.

Cedric diggory came out with a Swedish short snout and he did the task very quickly. He transfigured a rock into a labrador but it didnt last very long and he got burnt up the side of his face and almost flattened by the tail. He got scores of 8 8 and 7.

Now it was Harry's turn and he came out with........ the HUNGARIAN HORNTAIL!!!!!!!! He summoned his broom and everyone stood in awe at his cunning. He flew around the arena multiple times and everyone seemed to notice that he was trying to make it fly. He quickly cast the fire repelling charm and went on flying as the dragon rose into the air. He quickly swooped down and grabbed the egg and then flew into the tent whilst getting hit with the tail on his wand arm. That's going to leave a mark. He got scores of 10, 10 and 5. Karkoroff is so biased.

I think James' was the most terrifying of all as he had to fight Antipodeon Opaleye. It is a huge dragon with pearly white dkin and multicoloured eyes and breathes violet flames. James also summoned his broom and brought the snitch out of his pocket. The crowd ooed and awwed at his daring but continued watching quietly and yelped when the dragon breathed fire at the snitch. I burned a bright violet but seeing as it had a fire repellent charm on it the dragon did no real damage. The dragon continued to play with the snitch and james got the fastest time yet! He got scores of 10 10 and 9. Even Karkoroff can't argue with that performance. James raced back inmside the tent with his egg and Hermione, Remus and I raced after them and I couldn't help but notice Ron and Sirius follow us but at a slower pace.

"Harry james you did Brilliant!" I squealed whilst running in for a group hug. Hermione and Remus joined us and we just stood there for a minute. There was some clearing of throats and some awkward coghing behind us.

"We're sorry!" they chorused while smiling wearily.

"Finally came to your senses have you?!" James snarled but hugged Sirius all the same.

"I knew you wouldn't do it Harry, It's just that I have all those brothers at hometo compete with and doesn't help that my best friend is famous and got chosen for a game that would get me noticed!" Ron ssaid while looking at his shoes and kicking at the ground. Harry went and Hugged him too.

You guys are so stupid" Hermione cried and started hitting them before running out of the tent and having a small fit at the entrance to the tent. Remus had to go andtry to calm her down.

Can I just say I love my friends, related or not, from the furture or not!
