If It Means A Lot To You - A Day To Remember

It's been a few days since Sally and Estelle have come home. Tyson had to go back to Dad's. Percy was finally back from helping Magnus.  Helping Sally out with Estelle was harder than I thought. I was losing hours of sleep even when Percy and I alternated turns taking care of our little sister when Sally had to rest or run errands. School had already started and I was drowning in my homework on top of all of this.

I was currently in my room trying to do my English homework before I had to leave to Starbucks. Peter, Ned and I had agreed to meet at to work on our Chemistry homework together. Finishing up my last short answer on my assignment, I immediately placed it in my binder under the English tab. I shoved my things into my backpack and stood up.

"I'm going to go meet Peter and Ned! Do you guys want anything from Starbucks when I come back?" I screamed, slinging my backpack over my shoulder.

"A Mocha Frap sounds good right about now." Percy popped his head into my room. He yawned, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "I think it's my turn to watch over Estelle. That little booger is already demanding me to play water tricks for her."

"She isn't demanding you." I rolled my eyes, walking past my brother. "She can't even talk, let alone babble."

"Uh, have you not seen her eyes!? She keeps giving me that baby sea lion eyes." Percy whined, leaning his head against my door frame. "I have no idea where she..."

Percy trailed off and narrowed his eyes at me, sassily crossing his arms. I smiled innocently, batting my eyelashes. Grumbling curses in Ancient Greek, he pointed a finger at me.

"You taught her how to do that, didn't you?"

"What?" My voice coming out an octave higher as I stretched out the word. Nervously chuckling, I flicked my hand. "Psh, no. Never. Why would I teach a cute little baby how to get her way?"

"Nevah..." Percy glared at me. Sending him a quick cheeky smile, I waved and ran out the door. "Nevah!"

"Bye! I'll bring you something from Starbucks!" I yelled as I slammed the door behind me.

My eyes fluttered as I tried to reread the Chemistry problem. Peter and Ned were running late, as per usual. Ned was always at the most ten minutes later. Peter however, can go up to an hour lately. Which was never like him. Ever since his Uncle Ben past away, he started to act different. He was more secretive, less punctual, and he lied a lot (he's an awful liar).

Shaking those thoughts away, I took another sip from my Soy Iced Vanilla Latte. I underlined the key words in the word problem and I immediately wrote down the formula set up for Stoichiometry. Sighing, I started to work out the problem. With my chin in my hand, I continued to fight the heaviness of my eyelids. They momentarily closed, the darkness comforting as sleep started to invade my thoughts. Jumping at the sensation of falling, I saw how close my forehead was to the table before I drank a good portion of my drink.

"Work you stupid coffee."

"What did it ever do to you?" Ned chuckled, sitting across from me.

"I'm exhausted and this piece of schist isn't working for me. Coffee usually does." I sighed out, raking my hands down my face.

"Then take a quick nap. Peter will take a while anyways." Ned offered.

"I'm taking that offer." I yawned out, my eyes already closing once again.

"If you want, I can check over your Chem work?"

"Please?" I muttered, already laying my head on the table.
