I was running late. Again.

Ava and Cody were going to meet me at my place around 3 but I wasn't ready. Neither physically nor emotionally.

It had been almost 3 years since we all had been together. And now when it was finally happening, our definition of 'we all' had been changed. Completely.

I departed to Allys house once again in the morning because during our little reunion and Ms. Anna ushering us out, we had completely forgotten about the transportation of the package.

I was immediately welcomed at The Andrews residence and went straight to Allys room, trying to avoid any kind of small talk with anyone and hoping that the package hadn't gone anywhere because it was the only rope which I thought was holding us all together.

Entering the white walls once again and embracing the sweet scent of marshmallows, I locked the door behind me. The package was still there. Laying down on the neatly polished wooden floor. I picked it up, extra metriculous  because even if she was gone, I was still terrified of her and her punches thrown at me in exchange of throwing her mobile on the bed.

After picking it up and making sure that there was no one outside, I rushed towards the gate and into my car and started driving back to my house, mentally preparing myself for everything that was inside this package.

Driving straight past the Fallon Park and turning right to reach my house, I cherished the time when my dad was promoted and we bought our house in Allys neighbourhood. How we had two consecutive sleepovers and how she used to come at night during our exams to teach me maths. How we used to go snow  shovelling in our street and how she used to slip and fall almost everytime. How we used to bicycle together and race with any car going by. The soothing feeling of wind against my face and Allys whines when she lost.

I reminisced every moment we had spent on this street because now, our street had lost one of its street lights and now that area was dark. Gloomy and pitch black, ever-looming with secrets and lies. Irreplaceable because that light gave up so much to lighten up the way that it blasted. Exploded. Shattered into pieces. But its remains lingered there forever because it was after-all adored by all yet ignored.

Reaching my house, I saw Ava's car standing outside. Entering my home cautiously, I observed the scenario in front of me. My mum stirring something in the pot and Cody and Ava sat on the counter. Ava eating an apple and Cody replying to something my mum had said. He looked uncomfortable like he did everytime when he was with someone other than his closed circle.

Ava immediately detected me and hoped off the counter. Cody soon caught up after thanking my mum for the juice and we all went up in my room.

It was still awkward. I expected it to be but didn't wanted to be the first one to break the ice because that was Ava's duty.

"So are you guys gonna say something? Or do you want Ally to haunt us?"

Like I said, I could always depend on Ava.

"Wait. You weren't there. Clara gave her the letter and show her the things."

I nodded and unpacked the package, setting everything down line-wise. Ava read the letter while Cody and I took the gadgets and a bag of batteries out.

"So basically we have to unlock her devices and we are gonna be able to find her killer. How?"

"People can be lost, brains can be washed, artefacts can be tossed but not lost."

These words slipped my mouth before I could even contemplate what it meant.
Everyones dazed faces told me that they had heard it before.  But it hadn't made sense up till  now.

"So where do we start?",Cody asked and thats when we all started to think.

"The laptop", me and Ava said together.

"Because thats where the most info might be." Ava added.

"I dont think the laptop is the correct choice to start from." Cody said in a low murmur.

"I agree it must have the most evidence or something but, we knew the new Ally. The new Ally not the real one right. And if we ought to find her killer or whatever we need to know the true story. The real Ally and to know her we must take steps backward. From the new Ally towards the old Ally back. Do you understand what I mean?"

I did and so did Ava. For a period of time, I had almost forgotten how wise Cody was and how important each and everyone of us was.

"Where do you suggest we start from?"
I asked.

"The Ipod. It is the newest model. 2016. And mainly have songs nothing too important or heavy right."

We nodded and took the Ipod out. Turning it on, it took about 30 seconds for the screen to load and lockscreen to be displayed.

It was locked like we expected with a pattern and only a message from 'C.' saying, "u coming?"
