:Chapter 3:

I woke up to pitch black and looked at the clock on the beside table. 2:00am it read. I reached over and turned on the small lamp on the bedside table.

I looked around and realized I wasn't in Luke's bed anymore... I was in my childhood bedroom.

I got up and walked to my dresser. There were pictures of me in princess dresses and me and Michael dying Easter eggs. My hair is a golden color.

I heard a loud crash and jumped back. I walked downstairs to see my mum on the floor holding her face. Suddenly I felt like the little girl I was to witness this.

My dad came out of the kitchen with a empty scotch bottle and raised it over mums head.

I ran out "NO DADDY STOP!" I screamed getting in front of my mum.

"Danielle get her to go away before she's next." my dad growled to my mum. I stare at my fathers tall figure with fright. This is not the father I know.

"Daddy why are you doing this?" I cried.

"Baby go back upstairs and go to Michaels room ok I'll come and get you in a bit. Its going to be ok, I promise, mummy loves you ok?" She said pushing my back towards the stairs.

I turned and ran up the stairs to Mikey's room.

"MIKEY, MIKEY, MIKEY DADDY IS HURTING MUM DO SOMETHING!" I freaked out jumping on Michael waking him up.

He was 8 and I was 6 at the time and mum taught us what to do when there is an emergancy. So Michael grabbed the house phone and dialed 911.

He told a lady what was happening and told her the address. She told us she would stay on the phone until the police get here.

I hear sirens in the distance.

"Look what your dumbass kids did they called the cops on me! You planned this didn't you your stupid bitch?" I hear my dad scream at my mum. We ran down the stairs and hid around the corner.

Daddy had a knife and mums closed were ripped and bloody.

There was a loud knock at the door and dad lunged at mum.

"DADDY NO!" I screamed!

I sat up screaming.

Luke shot up and turned on the bedside table light. He pulled me into his arms as I shook with sobs. I never wanted to remember that night. I wish I could forget it forever. I've never told anyone about what I witnessed. It was me and Michaels secret.

For the next half hour Luke and I sat with me in his lap and him rocking me in his lap and smoothing my hair as I hold onto him tight.

I woke up with the sun shining bright on my face. I sat up and realized I wasn't laying on the mattress... I was on Luke.

I rolled off and he whined pulling me closer.

He opened his eyes and stared at me pushing a stray hair behind my ear. I looked down. I traced circles on his bare chest.

"I want to take you somewhere today." He said smiling down at me. I stopped and looked up at him.

"Ok." I nod and smile.

He looks over at the clock. "11:26. We better get up before my mom comes in and wakes us." he said.

We both get up. I walk over to my bag.

"What do I need to wear?" I ask while sliding the boxers that he have me to wear down my legs.

"Just something casual." Luke said pulling a shirt on. I nodded and grabbed some jean shorts out of my bag.

Luke laughed at the little dance I did as I put my pants on. He copied my actions while putting on his black skinny jeans. I laughed.

I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I grabbed my toothbrush from the holder and put some toothpaste on it. Luke walked in while I was brushing them and started brushing his, it was only a one person sink.

We kept goofing off and bumping each other out of the way of the sink. By the end Luke had to change shorts because of the toothpaste marks and I had toothpaste on the side of my face from him kissing my cheek.

I brushed out my hair and washed off my face and walked into the livingroom. Liz was sitting on the couch flipping through the tv channels.

"Good morning liz!" I said sitting next to her and putting on my vans.

"Morning sweetie how are you doing?" She asked deciding on the news channel and putting down the remote.

"I'm hanging in there. how are you?" I asked finishing tying my shoe.

"I'm good. Also remember you can stay here as long as you leave (people who have already read this you know what I mean). We are your family even though we aren't related." I nodded as Luke walked out putting on his left shoe.

"Ready to go? He asked me. I nodded an we said goodbye to his mom.

We walked out of the house and got into Luke's car.

"Where are we going?" I asked him looking out the window.

"That's for me to know and you to find out." Luke said with a smirk
