Smile Again, Babe.

CONNOR P.O.V

"Baby, I don't care what you get me as long as your here. Now where are you?"

Just hearing her voice, had my heart skipping beats. She lit up my world. I did nothing to deserve her.

"I'm coming, alright? I just forgot one little thing, but I'll be there, Babe." I muttered as I found the nearest parking to our local pharmacy.

"Alright. I love you Connor!" She replied.

I chuckled deeply.

Even though I had been with this girl for 5 years, every time she said she loved me, I swear it feels like the first time.

"I love you too.."

After hanging up, I get out of my Range Rover and sprint into the store.

"Hey, how's it goin..So I need a copy of this key." I said and then crammed my hand into my pocket, and grabbed my apartment key.

"Awwww, is this like for a special someone?" Asked a chubby blonde chick with green eyeshadow.

I grinned. "Yeah."

She looked at me with wide eyes.

After looking me up and down, she then walked onto the other side of the counter, where I was standing.

She was now directly in front of me.

"Well..."She started, in a very risqe tone. "She is one LUCKY girl." She whispered, very akwardly.

I chuckled nervously, and took a huge step in the opposite direction of her.

"I mean, if your busy I can al-"

"NO..It would be my honor to help you...Sexy" she said with a wheezy whisper.

With that she snatched the key from me and disappeared behind some "Emoloyess Only" door. About 6 minutes later she came back out with a fresh copy of my key.

"Alright, handsome..Here you go" she said leaning up against me. With one swift movement , I grabbed the keys and thanked her with a nervous chuckle.

As I was walking away, I heard her call out. "I want you to have my babies!!!" A genuine smile spread across my face. She seemed nice.

Now running to my car, my phone began ringing. After getting in, and shoving the keys in my pocket, I started the car up and reached for my phone, not seeing who it was.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's Olivia. You get the key yet?"

I thanked God I had Olivia. She was one of my best friends, and always had my back. I had her occupy Taeli, until I got there.

"Yeah, but i-shit!" I said, swerving into the wrong lane. I quickly adjusted the wheel.

"Connor? You okay?" She asked, worried.

"Yeah. Look I'm here now. Where is she?"

I heard her sigh with relief. "She's waiting in your apartment.

"Ok I'm coming up." I put the car in park, got out and began walking upstairs.

When I got there, Olivia was pacing back and forth in front of my apartment. She looked at me with wide eyes.

"Your tux, dummy!" she said. She reached her caramel brown arms up and adjusted the suit that I forgot I was wearing. After, she ran her hand through my hair, and smoothed it back. Then she stepped back, examined me and then with one swift nod, she motioned me to go inside.

Before opening the door all the way, I turned to Olivia with a grateful smile.

"Thanks, Liv"

She smiled and winked. "Have fun, kid" she then walked away.

With shaky hands, I slowly opened the door to my apartment.

"Olivia, is he here yet? Hurry, come here! Do you think he'll like this dress?? Liv!!" Taeli, yelled out.

I walked into my bedroom, and leaned against the doorway. She was frantically trying to put a bobbypin in her hair.

I couldn't help but admire her. This beautiful angel was all mine. She was wearing a black dress that fell just above her knees, with red heels.

Her beautiful pale skin, complimented her dark brown hair.

What have I done to deserve her?

"Olivia! Seriously! What are you doi-" she stopped talking, as she turned around and saw me. Her eyes were wide with panic and excitement.

"Baby!" She exclaimed and ran into my arms. With one swift motion, she wrapped her legs around my lower back. I tightened my grip on her waist, pulling her in closer.

She then rested her lips on mine. Her lips were soft and gentle. She removed her hands from my neck and onto my jawline. She then pulled away and looked at me, intensely.

"Happy Anniversary, gorgeous.." I whispered and kissed her cheek, gently placing her onto my bed. She smiled sheepishly and then stood on my bed with excitement.

"5 years, my baby!!" She squealed and then ran off the bed and over to her purse. She pulled out a little bag, and confidently walked over to me. "And here-"she said as she gently shoved it to my chest. -is to many,many more"I chuckled deeply, before opening it.

It was a picture of Taeli and I on our first date. It was a highschool football game. She was wearing and oversized hoodie, and skinny jeans. I was sitting next to her awkwardly. She never changed. Since the day I met her. She has always been kind, bubbly, outgoing and beautiful as ever.

She was my heavensent. There isn't a damn thing I wouldn't do for this girl.

I smiled a crooked smile, and pulled her in for a hug. She kissed my cheek and pulled away.

"Sooo..where we going?" She beamed as she grabbed her purse.

I nervously reached for my pocket to give her the key, hestitating. She noticed my strange behavior, and then tiptoed in front of me.

"What's uh, in your pocket, Babe?" She asked suspiciously.

"N,Nothing. C'mon let's g-" Her intense stare interrupted me. I sighed with defeat.

"What is it??" She asked eagerly.

I slowly grabbed the key from my pocket and clutched it tightly in my fist. Her face softened. She put both of her hands over my fist, and gently opened my fist. I shot my head up to see her reaction. Her face was unreadable. She stared at the key intensely, not once looking up at me. I then braced myself for rejection.

"Look, if it's too much, I-"

"Shut up" she interrupted with a whisper.

She then looked up at me, staring into my eyes. Her whole face lit up. Relief fell over me.

"You want me to move in?" She beamed.

I looked at her and chuckled. "Yeah, babe. I want you to move in." I sighed.

She giggled and then planted a kiss on my lips and grabbed my hand.

"Well..your gift was way better than mine." She laughed.

I laughed too. You couldn't help but laugh when Taeli laughed. Her laugh was contagious. I swear I fell in love with her every single day. Every single day.
