Brooklyn's P.O.V.
8:56, Onto the path, What seems like a nightmare.
I had to seem strong, so that he doesn't think that I'm vulnerable, and thinks I could easily be murdered by his hand. I also had to seem strong for them. We just watched our friend die and we lost hope. I have to stay strong to give high hopes. My goal is for all of us to get out of here alive, but I have a feeling that's not very likely. I'm hoping for at least one of us to make it out victoriously. I will do what I must to survive, and to help my friends survive. I've lost one friend already, I don't think I can handle losing them all. On the path, I gripped my friend's hands tight. Although I was ready to face what he had coming for us, I can't stop myself from being scared. I hope it doesn't show. Along the path, they were Halloween decorations everywhere. With an abundance of creepy clowns, of course. Fake spiderwebs and spiders were along the walls, with our only source of light being orange, black, and sometimes red fairy lights. The path we were walking stopped at a fork in the road. Oh no. He wanted us to split up. I've seen too many horror movies to know this is how most people die (stupidly). He basically is a living horror movie cliché at this point. "What do we do now?" Ivy asked. I thought about it. One path probably lead to some way to die and the other was probably another obstacle to get through. If I wanted someone to survive, we would need to split up into groups of two. At least no one was going alone, which always leads to death. "Daniel, Ivy, you two go to the left. Piper and I will go to the right." It may not be safe, but this whole situation isn't exactly "safe" either. Ivy and Piper seemed to think about the decision I came to and didn't say anything about it. Daniel just looked down to the ground with a sad look on his face. I think he knew what was at risk. He looked up and looked at Ivy, Piper, and me. He swooped in Piper and me into his arms for a hug. He whispered in our ears. "Good luck. Try with everything you have to stay alive." Tears formed in our eyes. "You too, goofball." Piper whispered back. He let go, only for Ivy to come in to swoop us up too. "See you later, alligators." You could hear that she was about to cry. "After a while, crocodiles." I replied. She let go and hugged Daniel, I hugged Piper. She took a breath and said, "You ready?" "Nope. Definitely not...let's go." I replied. I looked one last time at Daniel and Ivy and then back in front of me, the right pathway. I hope I made the right choice. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Daniel and Ivy go their way. Time for us to go too. Contradictory went through my mind. I wanted to live, but at the same time I wanted my friends to live. Please everyone, stay safe. For Zac.
