Ever since that night with Celine, Jimin felt off kilter. Like being too drunk, and not recovering from the night before. Seasick on a ship of unrequited emotions. He couldn't see with his eyes, feel with his hands. All he could feel was that ache in his chest. The one that would make his fists clench and face contort with hurt.

Before, everything was fine.

Or maybe it wasn't. Jimin couldn't really tell.

He guess he could say that the time he spent with her was steel gilded with gold. Pretty on the outside, but not as beautiful underneath.

It wasn't her fault. It wasn't his.

It wasn't even Jeongguk's fault.

But Jimin had hope. He really wished he hadn't.

Because ever since the first night they spent together, Jimin felt different. The man had felt alive for the first time in a while. What had become routine, boring had changed. Something was interesting to him.

Jimin got tired of constantly being with girls. Constantly meeting a new face at night each day. He respected each and every one of them, but it wasn't what he wanted.

But every time he liked someone, they always like Jeongguk better. Every time. He knew his best friend didn't do it on purpose, but it didn't make Jimin feel any better. He'd always smile, and sit on the sidelines.

He had learned to be lonely.

She didn't love him. She loved Jeongguk. She must have seen Jimin as some clingy side piece. He should've suspected it. True colors shined in their conversation last night.

He never really got his way when it counted.

His parents weren't in the picture. Because they were too busy being socialites. Unlike Jeongguk's parents who controlled everything, Jimin's parents left him alone without a care in the world. Up until he was five, the young boy thought the nanny was his real mom. He'd get the occasional call and text from him mom and dad, but it would be always something business related.

He had no siblings. No other family members really that cared about him.

All he had was his friends, and art.
