I stand in the french quarter uncomfortably, knowing only Klaus a I remain glued to his hip. He refuses to let me out of his sight under the chance that I might run away again.

The man, who I have now learned to be named Marcel, boasts to Klaus about his vampire feeding programme, making me feel even more uncomfortable.

"Then, at the stroke of midnight, everything changes, and it's time to feed." Marcel says, proud of his idea. Silently, as Marcel smirks, the two of us are led to a balcony that over looks everything. Below us, hands full of vampires feed on humans that scream in terror as I bury my head into Klaus' shoulder, trying to dispel the image from my mind. Comfortingly, he places a hand on the back of my head, holding me close to him.

"This is how I keep my guys happy: the occasional, all-you-can-eat buffet. My night-walkers love it. I've got 'em working hard, trying to earn one of these daylight rings. They deserve to blow off a little steam. My day-walkers, the trusted few – they just like the party." He says casually, making me gag harder internally.I scrunch my face up in disgust, thankful that my face is hidden by Klaus.

" It's quite an operation. Tell me – what about the victims? Seems like a lot of graves to dig." Klaus says, moving his other hand up and down my back in circle like movements.

"Can't kill 'em all. Too many folks go missing, tourism drops. So, we heal them with a little vamp blood, erase their memory, send them on their way – no muss, no fuss." Marcel says, self pride wafting from him strongly.

"I'm impressed,""That's horrible."Klaus and I say in sync.

Marcel smirks at the two of us. "Oh- you got yourself a sympathiser?"He asks Klaus, curiously.

"No-" Klaus sighs,"I got myself an Evie, hole new level to everything." He trails off.

"Marcel" A vampire says, approaching the three of us. I pull my face away from Klaus's shoulder slightly, he keeps a hand on my back as I stare any where but below me.

"Sup, Thierry?" He replies, the name reminding me of the cute brother in Alvin and the chipmunks.

"Six of our guys were killed in a bar outside of the Quarter. Night-walkers. No one saw who." Klaus rolls his eyes as I smirk, already knowing who it is...

I lean over to open my car door as we pull up in front of the most recent Mikaelson mansion. I pull on the door, when it doesn't open, I realise that it has been locked. I turn to Klaus, raising my eyebrows as he shrugs from the drivers seat.

"Is there a reason you locked the door?"I ask, to which he just shrugs again. I sigh, leaning over him to unlock the doors. Just as my fingers are about to make contact with the button, a hand flies out, grabbing my wrist in a secure lock and bringing my hand to his mouth, placing kisses on my knuckles. When he is done, he holds my hand and places it in his lap, turning to look at me.

"Evie, we need to talk." Klaus says, a serious, sad expression on his face, I stare back at him blankly. He takes my silence as his cue to continue speaking.

"I'm sorry I killed your Mother."He says, his voice sounding honest. "Your so different to them, I-I forgot you were related." He looks down, allowing a silence to fill the car before staring directly into my eyes.

"I understand if you want to leave me."  For a few minutes, I stare at him blankly, searching his face for anything I had missed, but all it shows is pain. I allow a few more moments to pass. Sighing, he turns to unlock the car before I make my decision. Not caring whether I made the wrong one, I turn his head back around, forcing my lips onto his. At first, I know that I have taken him by surprise as he slowly starts to kiss back. My eyes already closed, I feel his teeth tugging at my bottom lip, asking for entrance as I oblige, allowing his tongue to explore my mouth. When we pull apart, I press the lock off, opening my door and stepping out, leaving a dazed Klaus to follow behind me.
