It was August 13th and a normal day for Annabeth. She woke up at 7:00 am like every other day and got dressed. She applied a little bit of make-up and did her hair before going downstairs for breakfast. Annabeth had been living with the Jacksons for about a month now and felt in heaven every second. Annabeth had felt a bit nervous when she agreed to stay with Percy after the Argo 2. She didn't want to be a bother especially when Percy's mom was concerned about caring for her new baby girl, Lawena. Annabeth agreed and quickly learned that it had been Percy's mom's idea to have Annabeth stay with them. Annabeth fell in love with Lawena. Lawena was a sweet little 3 month year old.
When Annabeth got down stairs she breathed in the smell of pancakes. When Annabeth walked into the kitchen she saw Percy sitting on the sofa feeding Lawena through a bottle while Sally was in the kitchen cooking. Percy smiled when he saw her.
"Hey! What's up?" Percy asked as Annabeth took a seat next to him.
"It's 7:30. What do expect to be up?" Annabeth asked taking Lawena so she could burp her.
"Just thought I'd ask." Percy said wrapping his arm around her. Annabeth closed her eyes and for a brief second pictured that Percy and her were married and that little Lawena was their child. She was so caught in the memory that she didn't notice that the burp cloth had slipped away and that Lawena had spit up on her. Annabeth sighed looking down at the shirt.
"Here, I'll take her and you can go change your shirt." Percy said before Annabeth could ask. He was so sweet. Annabeth handed Percy Lawena and then Annabeth went upstairs and changed.
Sally was doing laundry so Annabeth had no clean shirts. It was mostly Lawena's fault but Annabeth would never say that. She opened her closet and pulled out a dress. It was simple but beautiful. She pulled it over he head and took off her pants. She sprayed a bit of perfume to get rid of the vomit smell. She checked herself in the mirror before she went down. She realized that a bit of spit up had gotten in her hair. She quickly rinsed it with water and pulled her hair up into a ponytail. She added a bow to add to the look. She examined herself again and then went down stairs.
Annabeth walked over to the table where Percy was already sitting. There was a plate of pancakes in front of him but he wasn't eating. When Percy saw her he stood up which was strange because he never did. He took her hands and looked into her eyes.
"I've known you since I was twelve and we've been together since we were 16. Today is the my birthday and also the 3rd anniversary of our first kiss . So on this special day I have one question for you." Percy said. He got on one knee and pulled out a ring in a box. "Annabeth Chase, will you marry me?" Percy asked opening the box. Annabeth's eyes were watering but she nodded.
"Yes! 100% yes!" She said hugging him. He lifted her up and spun her around. Then they kissed. Annabeth's heart stopped and time seemed to freeze. She could have lived in the moment forever. She pulled away finally to wipe her eyes. After his wonderful speech she decided she had to say something but all she could muster was, "Seaweedbrain!" Percy gave a small laugh and Annabeth just smiled. He slipped the ring onto her finger and Annabeth finally got a good look at it.
It was beautiful! It had a ruby in the center with a gold surrounding. There were fine details that had little Rubies. Annabeth instantly knew that Percy had put a lot of thought into it. It would be her most favorite piece of jewelry forever.
"Why I don't think I've ever seen you this happy, Annabeth." A female voice said. Percy and Annabeth both turned to see who it was.
"Mom" Annabeth said.
"Dad" Percy said.
There standing by the door. Was Poseidon and Athena. Annabeth could not have been Happier to have Percy, his Dad, his Mom, his sister, her mom, and her altogether.
"We just couldn't miss this." Poseidon Said smiling proudly at his son. Athena walked over to Annabeth. Mother and daughter embraced each other.
"I'm sorry this visit has to end so soon but we must go. I'll see you at your wedding." Athena said and then kissed Annabeth on the head and then she and Poseidon were gone. There was a silence for a second. Annabeth's back was turned to Percy. He took a step forward and put a hand on her shoulder thinking that maybe she already missed her mom.
"You okay?" Percy asked. Then as if to answer the question Annabeth whipped herself around and full on kissed Percy. It took him off guard but he embraced the moment.
"Never been better!" Annabeth said when she finally pulled away. Percy's Mom then walked into the kitchen holding a plate with a pink heat shaped pancake. The best part was, in chocolate chips in said "P+A"
