So since the lyrics are kinda boring, I decided to take a different approach. I wrote this based on what that song's about, verses what the lyrics say. Hope that's okay!
Today was the day. This was the day where he was going to face his past head on. This was the day he was meeting his mother. Silver wrung his gloved hands, while Gold hugged his boyfriend. "So uh...should we knock?" "Go ahead." "Wait. Wh-hat?" Gold looked at him with a questioning expression. "She's your mother" Gritting his teeth, Silver silently cursed his boyfriend, and knocked on the door. A few moments passed, and nothing happened. What if she didn't know we were coming?! Or what if she did, and doesn't want to see me? Or what if--
The door opened.Okay, wait. Back up a little. How had he gotten himself in his situation in the first place? Well, actually, it was all Crystal's fault. After the whole incident with the Rockets and Arceus, Giovanni completely disappeared off the face of the planet. Silver couldn't care less, honestly, but Crystal whined about his loss of familial contact, and Mew, that woman was annoying! Silver could've probably delt with Crystal constantly on his case, but then Gold joined in, and Arceus knew that he couldn't say no to both of them when they were making Lilipup eyes at him.
"Silver, you need to have some kind of social connection!" The two of them were currently sitting in Professor Elm's lab, Crystal running something on her laptop, and Silver sitting on the counter. The redhead shrugged. "I do--you two" Crystal sighed, and gave him one of her "looks", as him and Gold had come to call them. They usually got them when Crystal was especially exasparated with them, and tended to forcast a Pokeball flying towards their head at some point in the near future. "You know what I mean, idiot." Silver rolled his eyes. He honestly wa sick of Crystal bugging him 24/7, but he wasn't about to concede to her, of all people. "Seriously, aren't you at all curious about your past?" Silver had to admit that he was, but there was something bigger keeping him from doing as Crystal suggested. The silver eyed teen looked at his friend, and frowned. "Why should I? The last time I tried, I found out that I was heir to a criminal organization, and was related to a complete asshole." In turth, he was scared. Learning that his dad was the leader of Team Rocket terrified him. The thought that he might be in Giovanni's place one day was a even worse thought. Not only did he fear for his future, but he saw what equivilated to an older version of himself--a version that he hated. A version that he wanted to burn (metaphorically, of course), and never look back on. In short, Silver was scared of his past. Crystal sighed again (The Catcher was often exasparated with her fellow Johtonian Dexholders). "You're hopeless, you know." Silver huffed, and heaved himslf off the counter. "Fuck off" "Well, excuse you " The Exchanger ignored the blue haired girl, and walked out.
He didn't get very far until he was tackled to the ground by an unknown force. "Silvy!" The lump squealed. Ah, so it was Gold. "Get the fuck off me, you lump!" Gold sat up, allowing Silver to as well. The gold eyed teen pouted, crossing his arms. "That's no way to greet your boyfriend!" "It is when he's a complete moron" Silver replied, flicking Gold on the forehead. The gold eyed teen kissed his boyfriend on the cheek, earning a embarrassed squeak from his boyfriend. They had come out to most of their friends and family a few weeks ago--a month after they started dating. Apparently Silver still wasn't use to all the public affection yet. Gold seemed to care less about that, more about embarrassing his poor boyfriend. Gold stood up, pulling Silver up with him. "What happened?" Silver tilted his head. "What?" "You ran out the lab like your hair was on fire!" Gold lightly pulled at a lock of Silver's hair. Silver batted him away. "Nothing happened. Crys was being a bitch. " "That's not very nice!" Silver muttered something unintelligible, and walked ahead. Gold sighed at his moody boyfriend, and quickly caught up to the redhead. "What did Super Serious Gal say this time?" Gold stopped in front the door of his and Silver's house (technically, it was Gold's house, but Gold had dragged Silver to live with him), and took out a key, unlocking the door, and held it out for Silver. "Ladies first!" "Oh, fuck off!"
The next day, Gold was nowhere to be found. The hyperactive teen was usually bouncing around doing this or that, at the Nursery, helping (annoying) Crystal, or visiting various people. He always dragged (an usually unwilling) Silver along. The house felt strangely quiet without him. Not unpleasant, but strange. Silver shrugged. He would never admit it, but despite all his complaining, he enjoyed Gold's noisy presence. The redhead picked up a book. Might as well do something productive.
The door closed with a slam. Silver looked up to see Gold bursting in though the door. The silver-eyed boy looked up, and nodded a greeting. Gold grinned, and walked over to where his boyfriend sat, and parked himself on the armrest of the sofa. "So!" Silver looked up. "So...?" "Crystal told me what's up" The redhead internally groaned. Fucking great. "Yes?" "Silver, you should--" "Oh! Don't you start too!" Gold poked Silver in the arm. "Why not? What's there to lose?" Silver sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Yeah...nothing to lose. Last time I tried to 'find my familial roots' or whatever, that turned out dandy, didn't it?" The gold-eyed boy jumped up. "Aha! So that's it!" Why did he put up with Gold? "No, nothing's up and nothing's there to be 'up' about!" Gold looked at Silver, skeptical, and with no word, rushed out the door.
From that day forward, Silver got not one bit of silence. Either Gold or Crystal was always on his tail, pestering, begging, and at one point, threatening. After week upon weeks of constant annoyances, Silver finally decided to give in, and let Crystal drag him to a computer, and o the research began.
After a few weeks of searching, they finally found a lead. A woman in her mid-40s that had a divorce about 10 years ago, and apparently lost a child to a kidnapper. The lost child would be about Silver's age. Many awkward phone calls and such later, they had set up a meeting date.
Standing on the steps of the house that belonged to the person who you thought was your long lost mother was awkward enough, but nothing compared to the seconds of silence that followed. Finally, Gold, who was apparently done with Silver's social awkwardness, prodded the metal eyed boy forward. "...Hi?" Silver winced at his own feeble introduction. "S-Silver?" The lady before him was quite petite, with red hair and a long thin nose. Her eyes were tearing up. "That would be me...mom" Without warning, the lady--his mother--pulled him into a tight hug, and after a moment of hesitation, Silver hugged back.
Everything was going to be okay
He had family again.
