Chapter 3: got real

Mel's POV

As I hugged Dal, he was squeezing me so hard I think my blood circulation was getting cut off. But I didn't care, I loved him.. He can do what he wants. Did I just say that? Wow.. "I've missed ya Mel. How've ya been?"

"Good Dal. Real good, how bout' ya?" Dally definitely was mean sometimes, but when he cares about someone, he turns as soft as a teddy bear. That's one of the things I like about him. And because he's overly attractive..

"Great, great. Listen uh can we talk?" Dally asked without making eye contact with me. Before I could answer his question he pulled me by my collar on my leather jacket on to the front lawn. "I usually don't get this crazy over a girl. I'm tough and tuff.. Those guys don't get crazy over them." I just glared into his black eyes and he can tell the look in my face, it was a  'go on im hearing you out' kinda' look. He was still holding on to my collar and he pulled me in closer to him, closing the space in between us. "You're uh..." He trailed off. "Very beautiful Mel. Ha yeaa didn't think id be saying that."

"Thanks, but you're way too ador-" Before I could finish my sentence his lips put quite some pressure onto mine. I really didn't mind it. I was thinking to myself, 'hey this moment finally came and im making it last.'

"You know what you should be, which you aren't yet? My girl. Be my girl Mel?" He just stared at me until I gave him an answer. His soft grin was way too cute on him. Wow I just realized I have a sweet side to me... That's weird.

"Yes Dal!" His eyes widened and he lifted me up like I was a feather and twirled me around. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and carried me into the house bridal style. He settled me down on the couch and lied next to me and gave me a nice, warm, tight hug.

"YEEHAA WHATS GOING ON HERE LITTLE LOVAH'S?!" Two-bit was too much to handle.

"The only thing that's going on is the fact she's mine now so lay off?" I love it when Dally get's all serious in his low voice. "Baby, your too sweet when you lay down and cuddle."

"Right back at ya'!"

Dally's POV

I really did like Mel. I may be a jerk... A lot, but when I like someone I really do have a sweet side to me. I know shocking huh? Plus I'm tough, so when she needs help I'm there. All the past girl I dated were just scummy broads probably picked up on a sidewalk. But Mel, she has class, I actually respect her. I've never felt so happy before to hear someone say yes.

"I really like you Mel." When she looked at me, I just wanted to go in for a huge kissing session. But I know that she wouldn't like that. And Mel is the most respected person to me and I want our relationship to last, so I do what she is comfortable with.

"I really really really like you Dally." Wow... That's a nice feeling to hear that. I was thinking earlier, Just for her I'm gong to try to clean up my act on how I am. I want to impress her parents when we meet and I don't want them to find records in the future, ive got to show responsibility and maturity. Ill do it for Mel.
