Chapter 4: Secrets revealed, feelings are sealed

Dally's POV

I lied down on the couch with Mel and I wrapped my arms around her waist and squeezed her. Sodapop and Natalia walked out of the bedroom and waved at us. Soda raised his eyebrows and just glared at us. "What man, you got a problem?" I usually have a big attitude towards everyone except for Johnny.

"Well if it isn't Dallas Winston and Mel Hartsel. But to answer your question, no I don't have a problem im just curious of whats going on." Soda needed to learn how to mind his own business. But we were on his couch so eh... I still don't care. I gave Mel a smooch and looked back at Soda. "OH.. So she's your new broad?" Soda asked me.

"NO SODA! She is not a broad, shes a lady. But yes." Mel's lids got heavy from my view so I stroked her hair.

"Owww, Dal, you're pulling my hair and squeezing me too tight." I never meant to hurt Mel. I try not to hurt the people I love. I apologized and she intertwined her hand into mine.

"Hey Y'all gather round. Lets play a game while were here. Leah what do you want to play?" Darry asked Leah. I lifted Mel off the couch onto the floor on my lap. Soda seated next to us and Natalia followed. Darry and Leah sat together and Pony and Kat plopped down next to them.

"Hmmm, How about would you rather. To choose who goes we'll pull a name out of Soda's DX baseball cap." We all nodded in agreement and Pony was gonna' reach his hand in first to draw a name but I gave it a good slap and I chose it first.

"Sorry Pony but you know the rules. Dally's first." I pulled out the piece of paper and read the name. "Ponyboy! Would you rather give a good smooch to Kat or always be attached to her, yes legit attached." Pony rolled his eyes in an annoyed way and gave his answer.

"Smooch... And ill do it right now to prove it. " Pony reached over to Kat and kissed her before she could even say anything. "See, a smooch!" Darry gave him the evil eye and everyone else laughed. Kat's eyes dilated and just gave a giggle. Pony reached into the hat and whipped out the next victom.

Pony's POV

I gotta' admit, I really enjoyed that. I know Kat likes me, so its always good to make people feel better. "Natalia, would you rather go out with me wink wink or go out with Soda. This should be pretty easy Nat!" We all stared at Nat and she seemed like she was under pressure. She looked at Soda and he just winked at her. What did this mean?

"Umm.. Well Ponyboy, and everybody in here. Sodapop and I are going to give it a shot. You know, to see if we can be closer I guess?" I knew what Natalia meant too. I felt my face get red hot and I just looked down at the piece of paper. I crumbled the paper up and tossed it behind me. Why don't I seem to figure these things out earlier. "Ponyboy, are you alright?" Now Nat seemed and concerned for me. I knew she was think 'oh how dare I tell Ponyboy that me and Soda are closer. I know he likes me.'  No she probably wasn't thinking that, that was just my mind speaking. Wait I don't have a brain so, yea' I don't know anymore.

"I uh.. um.. guess nat." I could feel my voice get shaky and I ran into my bedroom. Kat ran after me and I slammed the door in her face, and to be honest, I felt kind of bad. "Sorry Kat, but you can come in." I mumbled through the door. Once she came in, I jumped off the bed and ran to her to give her a hug. "Im sorry Kat. I really am. I know you have feelings towards me, and its.. Its just well... It was rude of me of what I did to you and then what I said to Nat. Im sorry Kat! Your beautiful Kat you really are.. and.. and.. I JUST LOVE YOU TO MUCH TO HURT YOU!" My voice got swelled up with tears and I just bursted out. I hugged Kat and gave her a kiss on the forehead and rested my chin on her head.

"What? Ponyboy. I didn't get hurt from what you did! I didn't! And you don't have to say that to make me feel better, because then it really will hurt me if you didn't mean what you said." I could tell Kat was going to get watery eyed too.

"Im not 'just saying' that. I really mean it Kat. I really do." The biggest smile went across her face ear to ear. We both laughed and took deep breaths in and out. I picked her up and twirled her around. "Kat Eve Larenty, how about we go catch the next drive in movie?" Yeah, I wasn't going to ask her out like 'ohh be my girl?'  I'm just going to make it casual, and if this first date goes well, then ill ask the big question.
