I was not going to let you die

STORYLINE: You wake up and the person you want to see the most isn't there to make you feel better.

You opened your eyes, seeing the grey ceiling above you. You blinked a few times and turned your head to look at the sides of the empty room. You felt a slight pain in your stomach and the events of what happened crossed your mind. Gun. Bullet. Bellamy.

It was hard to lift your head, so you lifted your hand instead, to touch your stomach. You felt a bandage over it. "Y/n, you're awake." You turned toward the door to see Abby walking in. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I got shot." Abby laughed. "How long was I out?"

"Almost two days." You looked at her surprised. "You lost a lot of blood and we had to operate."

"Where's Bellamy? And my dad?" You asked her, trying to lift your body. "I want to see them."

"Y/n, don't. You have to rest. Is too soon to try to move." Abby said, pushing your shoulders down. "I'm going to call them. Stay still."

You stood still, looking at the equipment around the room. A few minutes passed, when you hear footsteps. You looked at the door and saw your father rushing toward you. "Hey, sweetheart. How are you?" He asked, pushing your hair from your forehead. "I was so worry."

"I'm fine. My stomach hurts a little, but I'm fine." You were about to ask for Bellamy, when Octavia walked in with a big smile on her face. She hugged you, making the embrace a little too tight. "O, not so tight."

"Sorry." She mumbled.

After almost an hour of conversation, Your father and Abby left, leaving you and Octavia alone.

"Being shot is a bitch, right?" She asked you, making you laugh, what made you feel more pain.

You putted your hand on your stomach. "Don't make me laugh." She leaned back on the chair, laughing too. You then turned to her and asked her in a serious tone. "Where's Bellamy?"

The smile on Octavia's face disappeared and was replaced with a serious expression. "You know... he's busy... with things."

"You're a terrible liar, O." She looked at you, giving you a look that you knew too well. You gave her a sad smile. "He's trying to push me away, isn't he?" Before you two were dating, you and Bellamy were friends, so you knew very well how his mind worked.

"You almost died, Y/n. He's scared." You rolled your head, locking your eyes on the ceiling. "He blames himself for what happened and you know how he is." She paused. "And your dad may have told him to stay away from you."

You turned your gaze toward her again. "What?" You asked in shock, but also not surprised by your dad actions. Since the beginning that your father didn't approved your relationship with Bellamy and you knew that he was just waiting for something like this to happen, to prove you his point. "God, he have to stop with that." You huffed and close your eyes.

"Ah, I have to go." Octavia said, making you open your eyes.

"What? No." You protested. "Don't leave me here alone."

Octavia stood up and squeezed your hand. "You guys have to talk." She walked away and you followed her with your eyes, that was when you saw him standing by the door.

He was wearing a blue shirt and his jacket was on his hands. His hair was a mess and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.

Octavia stopped by his side and said something that you couldn't hear. She then walked out of the door and Bellamy looked at you.

"Hi." He said in a low voice. He walked toward you and sat down on the chair where Octavia had previously sat.

"Hi." Now closer to you, you could really see the black bags under his eyes. "How are you?"

"Shouldn't I be the one to ask you that?"

"You look exhausted." You told him.

He ran his hand through his messy curls and took a deep breath. "Yeah, well, is a little difficult to sleep when you know that someone you love almost died trying to save you."

You grabbed his hand. "I was not going to let you die." You told him. "You were on your knees. If I hadn't put myself in front of you, you would've been dead with a bullet on your head."

Bellamy took his hand out of your grip and stood up, walking from one side to the other. You could see that he was getting frustrated. "And I could be now talking to your grave." He said, raising his voice. "You almost died, you know that, right?" He asked you. You just broke eye contact with him and he kept talking. "All you do is get hurt because of me and I'm not going to let that happen again."

You looked at him, with tears forming on your eyes. "What are you saying? Is this because of what my father told you?"

Bellamy looked down."I should stay away from you. You're going to die someday because of me and I can't let that happen..."

"Bellamy Blake, don't you dare push me away." You were already crying and all you wanted to do was get up from that damn bed and hug him to never let him go.

"I love you, Y/n." His own eyes were watery, with tears threatening to fall down. "I will always love you, but I can't do this."

You could feel your heart breaking up in pieces. "Are you breaking up with me?"

Bellamy looked at you, a tear falling down his face. His own heart was breaking. You and Octavia were the most important people in his life, but if to protect you he had to let you go, he wouldn't hesitate to do it. He looked away. "I can't see you getting hurt anymore."

"You're hurting me now, by breaking up with me." You muttered.

Bellamy shook his head. He walked toward the chair and grabbed his jacket. "I need to go. I'm sorry." He said, walking fast toward the door.

"Bellamy? Bellamy?" You shouted, calling out for him. He didn't turned around and walked out the door, leaving you crying alone in the empty room.
