A/N: Back from Russia! 🇷🇺
I had a brilliant time for the most part, but am very tired after travelling in total for ten hours. However I did get to see Germany too (stopped off there) and from what I saw at the airport, it seems like a fab country 😂
Above is a picture I took of the sky in Moscow. It contains the TV Tower which I went up 🇷🇺
"I dunno why you're so worried about me seeing your mam." Liam yawns as the taxi pulls up outside the house. "It's not like I'm some ex-convict or... or a Tory MP."
I stretch out my arms - exhausted from all the travelling we've done - and try to heave myself out from my sleepy state. "You left me and never called, remember? Funnily enough she can't let go of that." And secretly, neither can I.
There's always disadvantages with people; someone might be exceptionally nice and good-hearted but are probably quite needy. You could seem really bossy but actually it's passion. With Liam, he ticks four out of five boxes:
- Ambitious
- Opinionated
- Someone I personally am attracted to
- Good-hearted / kindHowever possibly the most important aspect of any relationship is trust and being able to put your faith in the person you are with. Liam doesn't tick that box and soon it will need confronting.
Liam groans, "We were kids Arden, I was totally off my head half the time anyway." He pays the cabbie and stuffs the change into his pocket (have men not heard of wallets?) and smoothly tucks an unruly piece of hair behind my ear. "I want her - and you - to realise how serious I am about this. I'm sick of pissin' around. Why waste anymore time?" And with that he kicks open the door and helps me out the car.
The new house is nice, far more pleasant than the terraced house Ruth and I grew up in, but in all fairness Richard and Mum do now run an art gallery (only small) and have been earning a fair amount along with Richard being a financial advisor. Which helps. They were even prepared to have Ruth work for them sourcing new pieces and dealers after she failed her law course, sorry, 'Decided that law was too below her and could offer the world greater things'.
Liam hands me the present and wheels the suitcase from the car and up the front steps of the house, my heart thumping all the while.
I was able to maintain a good relationship with my family when I moved to London so it's not them I'm worried about, it's Liam. I just don't want them to think I'm making a mistake because to be honest, I'm not sure if I am or am not.
Mum opens the door and she looks just as young as she did ten years ago. Same wild hair and structured face, grey eyes and slender hands. If I look as good as her when I'm nearing fifty I'll be bloody pleased.
"Arden it's amazing to see you," she gasps, pulling me into her arms. Same perfume. "And Liam too!" She hugs him too which shocks me at first but mum is a very huggy person.
I pass her the present and whip off my shoes, Liam notices this action and bends over to remove his own which I can tell has impressed mum by the look she gives me.
"Ruth is just in here with her new fella, I'll introduce you."
When mum's back is turned I kiss Liam gently, "I've got you well trained." I say, grinning on tiptoes.
"You and me mam." He corrects me before following me into the living room.
Maybe this won't be so bad.
